Sprouts, sprouts everywhere!!!! Love them!!!!
I purchased these a year ago and (growing sprouts every week) it has taken me that long to use all of this Sprout House sampler. It says it is a small sampler but you get a lot of sprouts!!! As I was a newbie to sprout growing, I selected this sampler as I had no idea what I liked for sprouts and it was certified organic non-GMO. I bought a little sprout tray set up and just started. There are so many different combinations here. Almost too many!!!!! I love hot and spicy so I was hoping for find one zesty mix but really there was not. Maybe there is no such thing with sprouts? I have learned the following things that may be helpful to you: 1. Put about a tablespoon of the seeds in a little cup of warm water and let them stay a day or so to give them a head start. You will see the outer skins lifting off. 2. Put them in a container that you can easily water them twice daily and drain the water off. You don't want them to either drown or dry out. 3. Be careful not to put them in direct sun but do keep them at least at room temperature. You don't want them to cook in the sun or get too cold. 4. If you have a multiple containers, it is easy to try different varieties with this sampler. Just stagger them a day or two behind so you don't have multiple crops maturing at one time. 5. When they are mature you should harvest them by removing them from your growing container, rinsing them and storing in a Baggie in the refrigerator. They will last at least 3 to 4 days. 6. Generally, less is more with sprouts. In the beginning I found that I was soaking way too many seeds and growing too many spouts that matured all at once or over grew resulting in baby plants!!!!! Growing spouts is a wonderful year round project. I found that starting in Winter was great as it gave me fresh greens daily and something to look forward to in the cold months when little was growing outside. Also, kids are fascinated with sprouting projects and it also gives them something new and healthy to try. If this has been helpful in anyway please press the button and let me know. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Amazing!
This was such a great purchase! There are so many varieties in this pack, you never get sick of what you are sprouting. Each packet is enough for me to make three small jars of sprouts, which works just perfect! And they are delicious and fresh.

So Many Types of Seeds for Sprouts!
From the images and description, I thought the small bags of seeds would allow me to try the varieties one or two times. As it turns out, The Sprout House has included enough for several batches with the smaller seed varieties and at least a few of the larger ones. I have been using the VICTORIO VKP1014 Four-Tray Kitchen Crop TM Sprouter and have been delighted with the results. The mixes have colorful seeds that have been mixed well for complementary flavors. Iโm fascinated by all the types of seeds included, many that I had the research names from the labels to identify the varieties. Who knew you could sprout garbanzo beans? The sprouts change flavor as they grow and Iโm learning some are best harvested earlier and some can grow longer. Itโs obvious I need a journal to track what has worked best and what needs improvement. These mixes have given very high percentages of sprouted seeds, i.e., not many unsprouted remain. The very small seeds seem to have more of the unsprouted seeds. Perhaps they go bad sooner. There were plenty of the viable seeds remaining. For the small seeds, I've used 1 tablespoon of seed per batch. For the larger seed mixtures, I used 2 tablespoons, The directions call for soaking the seeds for 3-8 hours, draining, rinsing and then transferring to the sprouter. For one batch, I forgot to soak first and decided to be lazy and see what would happen. I poured water through the sprouter more often than usual the first day to try to make up for my omission, but otherwise followed the usual directions of pouring water through 2 or 3 times a day. The seeds were very forgiving and gave good batches. Soaking and rinsing has the advantage of being able to identify the floater that probably won't sprout and removing loose hulls that will rot or add bitterness. Iโm the only one in our household who eats sprouts and will likely just reorder the sampler when it is time to replenish my supply. I havenโt found any that I donโt like and the variety saves me from having to choose.

Great value and perfect for trying new seeds
I'm new at sprouting seeds, and this sampler really helped me try out different sprouts before buying large quantities of something I may not like. The seeds are excellent quality and I haven't had any that were difficult to grow. Many of the mixes have lentils in them, which I've discovered that I'm not fond of. They have a bland, starchy taste to them. I also wasn't a fan of the garbanzo beans, as they were very bitter. I've loved the smaller seed mixes, especially ones with radish or daikon radish. They have such a great, spicy bite to them. I found that I prefer growing the mung beans separately since the containers I have for the sprouts are too shallow and allow too much light to reach the seeds. I painstakingly sorted the seeds to make mixes that I like, and kept the mung beans separate. I will definitely order from this company again now that I know which seeds I prefer.

Yummy and good!
Wonderful assortment! Germination rate seemed fine, too. I enjoyed these very much, mostly, and used this variety pack to learn the art of sprouting :D It was perfect for that, as I got to experience lots of different types of seeds, and learn what I liked and what I didn't. I discovered I am not a huge fan of radish (it makes my mouth burn, too spicy!), I also find lentils to be rather blah. And quite a few of the mixes did have one or the other, which was a slight bummer. But, I am glad I bought these early in my new hobby phase (they are now all used up, except for a small remainder of the spicier mixes which I donated to a friend who is now learning to sprout), and would recommend them to anyone curious to try a variety pack. Me, I am now sprouting enough I am investing in larger bags of my particular favorite individual seeds, and mixing (or not) on my own--a health food store recently opened in my neighborhood, and they actually stock sprouting seeds (yay!), so I now have a local source for re-stocking. However, I may buy pre-mixed again in the future if I start hankering for something beyond what my local store carries, and would not hesitate to order from the Sprout House again. :)

Great start for those new to sprouting
I had never grown sprouts in my life. Honestly, I hadn't eaten many sprouts in my life either! I thought you had either alfalfa sprouts. . . or bean sprouts . . . and that was it. Who knew that you could actually sprout so many seeds?!?! The best part are all the different mixes which are available. Different blends of seeds have different flavors. That's where this sampler really comes in handy. This way you can try a lot of different blends (at a very reasonable price, I might add) and decide which ones you like the best. A little advice, if you're new to sprouting. . .. First, get an "Easy Sprouter". Next, do a little research online to find out how long you should let the sprouts grow before they are ready to eat. This kind of depends upon what you like, but there are still some general "rules-of-thumb". Once you have the Easy Sprouter, you'll be able to find a website which will show you how to use it and you'll find lots of great information at that website as well. You might like to have more than one "Easy Sprouter" so you'll never be without sprouts, and you can grow different types at the same time. I can't believe how easy it is to grow sprouts! I use the "larger" sprouts (like the Veggie Queen Salad Mix) to make delicious salads. I use the "smaller" sprouts (like the Organic Sprouting Seeds Salad Mix) for sandwiches, top a bagel, roll-ups, etc. I use sprouts on TONS of things now!!! Easy Sprout Sprouter - 1 set,(Easy Sprout)

An excellent starter kit for the indecisive.
The sprouts have all been sprouting healthy and lively. And such a variety! There are spicy, mild, beany varieties, grassy varieties, and my family has loved them all. The only ones that grow very slowly are the onion/garlic mix, but as long as they are kept warm and moist, they do grow. I suspect that onion and garlic just grow more slowly than the other varieties, and that there's nothing wrong with the mix. My husband wanted alfalfa, and I wanted to try new things. My young kids wanted mild, the grownup kids wanted spicy. This kit was a great way to accommodate everyone. So far we've grown an amount that would have cost at least $30 if we'd bought sprouts in the store, and we've barely made a dent in our seed collection. Growing sprouts really can be a great savings of money. Add to that the fact that this doesn't cost more per pound than the non-sampler seeds, so you get to try everything without having to pay extra for the privilege. You can do your sprouting with fancy equipment, but there is a much easier way. Get mason jars with rings, and cheesecloth. Put two tablespoons of seeds in a jar and close it with the cheesecloth in the ring. Then add water, swish, and pour out the water through the cheesecloth. Twice a day rinse after that, and keep it in a warm place. After about 9 days, the jar is full of sprouts. You can replace the cheesecloth with the mason lid, and put it in the refrigerator. I recommend putting a label on the jar, so you can keep track of which variety you have in it; then you can have multiple jars/varieties growing at once.

Delicious sprouts!
Each package is a delicious blend of different seeds. They sprout extremely well, no duds in any of the packs! I get a really good and healthy crop of sprouts every time. I liked this sample pack because I tried out several seeds I never sprouted before. Each mix is great in salads. I love the garbanzo mixes because they are a complete "sandwich maker". I shove them all into pita pockets with tomatoes and avacodos and have a flavor party!
