Matching Transformer, 3-Pack Gold Plated - 75 Ohm to 300 Ohm Adapter - UHF/VHF/FM Balun Antenne Transformer Converter Adapters with F Female Jack for TV, Radio, Coax Antenna

After playing around with a paper clip to confirm that we can receive some decent ota signals for some channels - those in the uhf range, I decided to try some dipoles and bow ties using old wire coat hangers to pull in abc and cbs which are in the high vhf range. So I needed these to connect the antenna to the tv via coax f- connectors. It ended up working ok, although the antennas being indoors were a bit fussy about positioning in order to get all. So I decided to try to use the cable system put in during house construction. Since we have a new house, we have coax going to each room and the outside, all cables meet up in a wiring cabinet along with the ethernet cables but none were labeled. So I went to each coax with a jumper to short one end and test for continuity at the other end. Once I identified each, I installed an f- connector on the outside cable, used one of these baluns to connect to a bow tie I made out of copper ground wire, and tie wrapped it onto the nearby incoming gas line. Bingo! It works way better than expected. Simply hanging outside, it gets all local stations clear as a bell in crisp HD. So now we can drop live TV from or streaming service and save a bundle. Fwiw, all major channel antennas are only about 20 mi away, all in the same direction except for PBS which is in the uhf range and comes just fine regardless of the antenna used. I actually tried out some fancier designs developed to improve signal gain but none worked indoors all that well. Putting this simple antenna outside has exceed all my expectations.

These transformers are really good. Installed them in a home made antenna and the quality of the signal reception was much better than previous transformer used in the same antenna.

These are great for older AV type, works great for older equipment, that need a signal, to pick up sound, great value and sound quality it great.

Worked amazing

Tested one device of the three on a Vector Network Analyze using a 330 ohm resistor to simulate an antenna. This resulted in an impedance of 48.5 ohms at 50 MHz and 61 ohms at 100 Mhz. An old BP Electronics MT-1 was 74 ohms at 50 MHz and 68 ohms at 100 Mhz. Was hoping this purchase would be better than the MT-1, but it wasn't. Well if I somehow end up using an antenna that is 400-500 ohm across VHF-L, then I will consider using it.

Had to buy three for £8.99 only needed one but no other suppliers so mustn’t complain! Plus have spares. All worked and my old 1974 Sony tuner is back in action.

Made own dipole. Nice clear signals received.
