Expensive but effective
I purchased the Eyebloc Webcam Cover for use with my 2021 M1 Macbook Pro. Before my purchase I was using a folded piece of index card to cover the whole notch area. This product works well and I'm very happy with it so far. It clips to the front of my laptop using the border magnets built into the display. Once placed, it is virtually invisible. You have to look very closely to see it and it blocks the camera very effectively. If you need to use the camera, you simply slide the entire cover to expose the camera. Does it cover the camera any more effectively than a piece of index card or tape? No. But it looks much better, allows the laptop to close cleanly with it installed, stays in place, allows the light sensor in the monitor to function properly, and doesn't leave any sticky adhesive on the screen. Yes, it is expensive for its purpose but to me, it's worth it. I like it so much I'm going to purchase a second one for my work laptop.

Inexpensive and Unobtrusive Camera Cover - Worth the $
Super inexpensive, but they do the trick. Once installed on the laptop, you barely notice it until you need either to use or stop using your camera. Installation takes literally seconds. They weigh practically nothing but work like a charm. They're magnetic, and stick well with easy removal.

An elegant and subtle camera cover...at a price
I'm not paranoid. I swear. But I've seen too many people make embarrassing and sometimes costly mistakes while thinking nobody was watching them on their webcam, and I want to be sure. Not everything I do in my house is fit for public consumption, ya know? So I've been using a neatly-cut piece of blue painters tape to cover the camera, and it's just ugly. The corner I use to pull it up won't stay down, and it's super-obvious that I have a camera blocker. I don't want that to encourage certain people to start up a conversation about how the government is watching us and using Elon Musk's satellites to control our minds. Nothing wrong with those guy, just not for me. Ya know? So I found this webcam cover on Amazon, saw the price, and thought "this much for a thin piece of metal?" But the reviews were really good, so I grabbed a crowbar, pulled my dusty American Express Aluminum card out, and ordered one. I got it today, and yep. A thin piece of metal with a thin strip of magnet on one side. I could have made one of these in my 9th grade shop class. But it would be big and ugly, and would probably break my screen whenever I closed my Macbook. Sorry, where was I? In fact, it's a perfect accessory. It sticks easily to the integrated magnet at the top of the screen, and holds steadily. It doesn't interfere with the laptop closing, or the magnet holding the Macbook closed. You just use a finger (or toe, if you're into that) to slide the strip of metal sideways to hide or open up your camera. It has an extra hole so that whether the camera is open or covered, it doesn't block the light sensor. It's so nicely done, it feels like something Apple would make themselves if they weren't so pig-headed. [It doesn't matter if the green light shows the camera is on if you aren't looking at the computer at the time, Tim!] Oh, sorry. So yeah, it's pretty expensive for what it is, but it is elegant and works perfectly. Kind of like my Macbook. I guess I'll be getting a second one for my work computer. Definitely don't need a whoopsie there!

Decent
The construction is one long piece of metal with two stickers on the back to smooth it out. It includes a hole on top for the webcam and also for the light sensor. I've used 5+ webcam covers on my MacBook Pro and here's my first impressions in comparison: - ++ It is not going to break/come loose because it is not glued on - ++ My daughter is probably not going to destroy it - ++ It will get stuck in the on or off positions - -- Properly opening or closing it requires two hands and ~4 seconds, compared to one hand and 1 second Since I paid $20 for this (1/10 the price of Apple's cheapest iDevice) I consider this a premium product and have high expectations. A better design could have hugged the upper lid of the inner MacBook Pro case. Also the size of the bar could be shortened so that it snaps into place as it catches the magnet, perfectly aligning to the camera hole. Lastly, a red sticker could be included so that I may better know if the cover is "open" or "closed". Yes, I understand these first two suggestions would require holding an inventory of multiple EB-PRO-1000s in order to match different magnet alignments and top lid spacings. But actually not really, just cut from the bottom rather than the middle of the metal like this: ████████████▀▀▀██▀▀██████████

Can’t go wrong with this!
Who ever thought of this- thank you! It works great! It’s thin, super easy to use, the perfect size to cover the camera when you want, but not block any other part of the screen. It just “pops on”! I’ve had mine a while, and it still works just was well as when it was brand new. Well worth it!!

Simple, elegant, and perfect.
Purchased for a 15-inch MacBook Air M3 - Fits perfectly within display the bezel, thin enough that the lid will close completely, and the magnets keep it firmly in place.

Worth The Money
Very nice quality and gets the job done without a lot of fiddling around to slide into position. It glides very smoothly and does not cover any work areas. Extremely thin so it does not cause full closure issues. Fits my 2025 Mac Air without issue. As stated magnetic so no sticky residue to deal with like some others.

Great Product
Just as described, easy to install, but I am concerned to that when I move it, that the screen might be scratched??

The cover magnetised onto the whole bezel and notch of the Mac, such that you hardly notice it. You can easily slide the cover to open or cover the web cam as needed. Well worth it and definitely recommend.
