originally wanted to get the Swiss railway watch Moraine but that one is ridiculously expensive. This is absolutely beautiful and better ate it does not have the second arm. That is bit annoying to look at. So this one is a lot clearer look.

If you've traveled through Switzerland and train stations like Zurich, you've definitely seen this clock. The Swiss railway clock was designed during WW2 by Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss engineer, in an industrial minimalist style. It's still completely modern. This solidly constructed replica by English clockmaker Newgate (made in China) is only missing the red baton-like second hand, which probably isn't much of an issue. You can find cheaper replicas made out of plastic. With this clock you get a galvanized 3-inch casing. The hands are also metal. Right out of the box you know you've definitely upgraded from those $20 cheapies. This clock looks great and reminds me of pleasant travels. UPDATE Failed to keep time consistently even with new batteries in first month of operation. Luckily it was still within return window.

Cool kitchen clock, but way overpriced for what it is. It doesn’t even have a second hand. The hands and hour markers are bold and easily visible from far away. I wanted it mostly because the face isn’t stark white and it looks better against our wall color than the one we already had, which is actually higher quality and was less expensive.
