Alaska Bear Sleep Mask Silk Eye Cover with Shaped Pad, Machine Washable

I love it! It's silky soft, lightweight, and very comfortable to wear. It covers my eyes completely and blocks out all light. Perfect for sleeping.

I have had several eye pillows over the years that help during migraines and to sleep. I have had one from 1$ upwards of 30$, made of plastic material to cloth with pellets, and even some with "soothing" materials. Out of all of these, I have to say that this is by far the best eye pillow I have come across. It eliminates the light that sometimes creeps in through the area between your eye and your nose, and has a pleasant feel against my skin. I spend most of my day on my stream or editing videos for Youtube, so when it is time to sleep I like to cancel out all incoming light that I can. I can tell you that this does it with an efficiency I have not see in any other product. It takes a great deal for me to give such high praise to a product, but this does it with ease. I was skeptical reading the page because I always am, but since its delivery I have been pleasantly surprised. If I could give this 6 stars, I definitely would, From just the stand point of someone wanting a better nights sleep, Its a 10/10. From the standpoint of someone who medically has intense light sensitivity when going through a migraine, I give it a 10/10. From the standpoint of just a consumer looking for quality out of his money, Look not further. This is literally the best eye pillow I have come across. It's easy adjustable strap allows it to stay on my face regardless if I toss or turn, and although I have yet to use it during a flight, I can only imagine the same result as at my home. Let me state for full clarity, I have spent close to 200$ in just the last two years on eye pillows, This is not only the best for the price, it's the best for its purpose. I do not see myself purchasing anything other than this in the future, and I would be willing to put my name behind it (if that's worth anything.) So if you are hesitant on purchasing, Let me assure you that if your goal is to block light from your eyes, this is the ticket. Do yourself a favor, like I have, and give it a try. I have spoken with the Alaska Bear people myself, and they are very professional. So for your TL:DR "It's worth it, and you won't regret it. I have had many, and this is the best I have encountered thus far."

Soft! Silky. Stays in place. Easy on the skin. Great for side sleeping. Concave enough to allow for eye movement. Keeps the light out but not bulky in thickness. Machine washable. ( I use a small lingerie bag for washing delicates).

NOTE: I am an L.C.S.W (counselor/social worker). Sleep disorders are often correlated with depressive and anxious disorders along with other medical/physiological issues including the impact on the simple ability to recover from mental, emotional and phsyical "work"/stress. We often teach "sleep hygiene" (list of sleep-enhancing behaviors/strategies to make a habit) to clients seeking treatment, but these, of course, are great for anyone. I am a big believer in the-darker-the-better when it comes to sleep environment and anything that helps signal melatonin production at a consistent time and level (including watching, experiencing, savoring a sunset every chance you get), and helps to set our Circadian Rhythm (when we start to feel tired-PM and when we start to feel energetic-AM)... PROS: SLEEP IMPROVEMENT: 5 stars. This is the primary issue, right? I can honestly say that I am sleeping more dreamfully and more deeply since purchasing/using the mask; easily making it worth a try! I have a bedroom on a street with ridiculously bright street lights (SUCH a wrong way to light a neighborhood IMO--are these supposed to prevent crime? Should be one! lol). Anyway, a mask seemed like a more simple and versatile way to "blackout" the room than elaborate window treatments. The ones I have still let a lot of light through. And, it is/was (mask-simple, effective)! COMFORT OF MATERIAL: 5 stars. The natural silk is as/more comfortable than any material I can imagine. The mask seems lightly padded, and is very lightweight and comfy to the touch/wearing. OVERALL COMFORT: 4 stars. See comments below/CONS regarding strap re: my only real suggestion for the maker/seller (if one in the same). And, re: temperature--not sure if there are any perfect solutions. BLACKOUT: 4.5 stars. I will take credit for not seeing/choosing the nose-flap option in "size" of mask (I recommend trying that!). The regular design does make it slightly difficult to keep light from coming in the bottom (although this mask is about as good at doing so as it can be, better than others). NO light comes through the material/mask itself, and when accurately in place on your face, anywhere else either. But it does move at times, as per the strap issue below and not having chosen the nose flap option in sizing in my case. CONS: OVERALL COMFORT AGAIN (2 PARTS) 1. STRAP: 3 stars. I think there may be a design opportunity here. And note, almost all others are like this one, so this is still a top choice. I like that the strap is minimal and adjustable. The problem is, it attaches at a single point down the center of the mask. In other words, the strap attaches at the center/midway point of each "circle" of material over each eye. So, the more firmly you tighten it, the more it forms a "belt" of discomfort specifically accross the eyes, while the top and the bottom of the mask tend to pooch outward. Again in other words, as the center of the mask dips into the eyes/eye sockets, the upper and lower edges fold up and out minorly, like a taco so to speak. I believe if the strap "forked" at the mask and attached at two, maybe three, points or just widened, to attache slighly above and below the "circle"/patch of material over each eye, this might allow for a more continuous pulling down of the mask OVER, not through the center of, the entire mask. This actually is a very small issue as far as getting a somewhat "good enough" experience, but for 5 stars??? There's a design opportunity. 2. TEMPERATURE: 4.5 stars (because I don't know if there are any solutions). My eyes and surrounding, mainly upper cheeks, get JUST a tad warmer than I would like with the mask, but (DISCLAIMER on behalf of the maker): I honestly do not know what could be done to correct this. What is gained by coolness of thinning the mask or using another material may be outweighed by diminished comfort of material and/or decreased blackout/increased light coming in. It really seems about as good as it can get. ***rosacea sufferers: I am one. And, this mask is still excellent; but, I DO think this may be why there is a little warming discomfort, too. I keep the room at the exact same temperature every night no matter what time of year (which is expensive in Florida!!! ...but, I highly recommend) and I sleep with a ceiling fan on. When I face away from the fan, my face gets a bit hot as the material heats well into the night, when I turn over the fan seems to mitigate. SUMMARY: I highly recommend a "blacked out" room/sleep experience, it WILL change your life if you are not already a deep sleeper/experiencing this; and, therefore, I highly recommend THIS sleep mask, as it does the job VERY well. A SLIGHT improvement of the strap, and it's 5 stars for sure, but get it if you think any of this might sound worth a try. A minimal investment for an extremely important "need" (a word I do not use often)! Be well.

An amazing product. Comfy, cozy, and no light comes through. The curved eye mask gives my eyes space and comfort. Almost like wearing nothing.

There were several issues blocking me from having not just a good nights sleep, I was willing to settle for just a descent nights sleep - I use a CPAP Machine every night, I have a Himalayan Salt Lamp about 3 feet from my eyes that produces ambient light 24 hours a day, and I do not produce enough Melatonin for my body to sleep all through the night, I usually (and my husband does too, sometimes) have to get up at least once for a potty run. I used to use Tart Cherry Concentrate which worked beautifully, but either I got used to it and it stopped working, or the increased amounts of meds I take nightly affected my sleep. Because I would wake up periodically, I never got into a deep REM sleep that then also had its own side effects, anxiety and frequent headaches. All of these factors resulted in a disturbed nights' sleep, and an overweight, irritable, sleepy person during the day / and I said overweight because I was too tired during the day to do much more than sit, watch TV, and along with eating - well, you know what happened.... So I started using this sleep mask and like the difference between night and day, my sleeping habits gradually changed. The first change (and as it turned out, the ONLY one necessary ) I made was using this sleep mask - within a week, I noticed I was waking up refreshed!!! I was not waking up with a headache. I was not TIRED all day - I had energy I hadn't had in a LONG time! Then I noticed that without changing my water routine at night - I wasn't even getting up for my nightly run!!! I didn't think it was going to be comfortable because it does rest on your eyelids, after a couple of days I didn't even notice it. I use it every time I close my eyes day or night. It's even comfortable using it with my CPAP Machine ( I pit my CPAPmask on first, then the Sleep Mask - it stays put, its, adjustable to use even if I'm sleeping in hair rollers, and I'm a much sweeter person after a good nights sleep!! It washes easily. The material is soft and comfortable. It's s nice size (adjustable strap and no Velcro to catch your hair) that it fits over my CPAP mask without letting light seep in around time nose! I'm buying my hubby and daughter each one now because they don't sleep well and it's probably because of surrounding light from their salt lamps too! One of my BEST purchase ever!!!

Fits comfortably on the face, and I use it while sleeping or meditating. I am a side sleeper so this is perfect. Often times with other masks, light would peek in when I laid to the side because it folded, but this one stays tight, and the little flap protects against light.

UPDATE: After posting this review, the seller reached out and proactively issued a full refund. While the mask shape still didn't work for my facial structure, their customer service is excellent. I have increased my rating from two stars to three stars to reflect the great support. The material of the mask feels very nice, and it blocks light reasonably well (usually). However, the foam inserts clearly press against my eyelids while I sleep, causing me to wake up with blurry vision every morning after wearing it. I tried loosening the strap significantly, but the issue persists. It’s possible this is just a mismatch for my specific head shape/facial structure, but waking up unable to see clearly for 30 minutes makes it unusable for me and potentially detrimental to long-term eye health. The types of sleep masks with the built in "eye cup" cutouts are probably a safer bet for most people, given that, you know, your eyes are important. Also, the mask often lets light in around the nose bridge, particularly when sleeping on your side. I like my Mzoo Sleep Mask that I got after trying this one!

Very comfortable, and when I position it right, it definitely blocks out 100% of light. I don't use it every night because I can usually get my room to be very, very dark, and I find it just a touch harder to fall asleep with anything extra touching my face. However, some nights, my room gets very hot, and so I pull my blinds up halfway and open my windows to more airflow. I put in earbuds and wear this sleep mask. I usually still get quite a good sleep despite the additional noise and light because of these investments. I would definitely buy it again
