It works very well but you need to be deliberate with your application. It will affect nearby surfaces so be mindful when you spray.

Wow, this stuff is amazing! Spray the stuff on and it quickly cleans the rust off with a very light scotchbright pad (I used a glass surfaces/stovetop pad for gentile cutting). It really couldn't be easier! I haven't had any problem with the color of the cast iron getting damaged, which was my main concern. The bottle is kind of small, I wish I had bought a bigger bottle as I can see myself using this a lot. The speed at which it cuts through the rust is just amazing. What used to take quite a lot of time and elbow grease can be done is minutes with this stuff. For safety, I would suggest wearing some rubber gloves and wearing at least a paper mask. The spray does kind of get to your nose and I'm sure it's not good to breath. I can't imagine it's very good for your skin either, but it generally feels like a fairly safe product to use otherwise. Just use some basic common sense about handling chemicals.

This stuff is amazing!

I used this to remove surface rust on my cast iron table saw, and it works great! I sprayed the affected areas directly, let it sit for about 45 seconds, then with medium pressure, I scrubbed with the green side of a Scotch-Brite pad. The rust began to come right off. I immediately wiped up the area with a clean rag. For the stain removing portion, it did not work so great. I have a stain on my cast iron table saw top that the Boeshield RustFree and Stain Remover was unable to remove. To be fair, I wasn't really expecting it to remove the stain completely, as it seems once you get a stain on the cast iron top, you aren't ever going to be able to get it out without milling down the surface of the table. For those who are purchasing this to remove cast iron table saw stains, this might not work for you. It is possible I didn't let the product soak enough on the table, so your results may vary. I might try for a longer soak time in the future. This is a great product overall though, and I plan on purchasing more as my supply runs out. As far as rust removal goes, no other product I have used works better than this. I recommend you give this a try as well.

Works as advertised. Removed the rust on my cast iron tablesaw top, which had a fine coating of rust after 10 months of storage before using.

Product works well, helps remove corrosion from your tools. Biggest problem I found was the cap wasn’t put on the product tight enough during manufacturing and much of it had leaked out during shipping.

I recently purchased a planer that was probably in a humid environment, or maybe had been left outside. So there was rust everywhere - I cleaned all the functional surfaces manually with sandpaper, steel wool, and elbow grease. Now I wish I had this "rust-free" stuff when I started the job, because I used it on the outside of planer just for cleaning up the look. I was guessing that I'd have some more sanding to do because the rust was pretty thick. But the small spot I tried it on looked great! So I sprayed down a whole section - the results were very impressive... Not only did it remove the rust, but you couldn't tell that the rust was there to begin with - I mean you can see the original machining marks that were covered up with a layer of rust! Where the rust was deep, it left the metal darker than the rest. So with a little steel wool, everything looks great! A couple of catches about this item - It smells BAD BAD BAD! It made me cough something fierce when I inhaled just a bit. WEAR A RESPIRATOR! It made my eyes burn when I had my respirator on, so I used goggles and a big fan (hard to control the spray when the fan is going - but do it anyway!) Don't forget gloves because your skin will begin burning! Heck, get a disposable clean-room suit, they're cheap! The other catch - it leaves a very sticky, gummy surface. Like you let honey dry for a month. So I cleaned up with some solvents (acetone breaks it up nicely). All in all, I'm very happy with this product, as it did exactly what I needed - better than what I thought. I'm glad I don't have to use it everyday because it is toxic. I've already recommended it to friends who have rust issues!
