Great Pedometer
I have been using the One Tweak Pedomert for about 2 weeks now. It works well for me, and I had no problems setting it up. I think the reason for some people havng difficulty with set up is that the Step Mode shows "step" on the top. When you are in Memory Mode, there is also a screen that shows "step" on the top since you are viewing steps in memory. It is important that you actually be in step mode, not memory mode to initiate the setup. Once you get that, setup is a breeze. I like the fact that this is a pedeometer, and only a pedometer (albeit with distance and calories tracked as well). I am pre-diebetic, and I want to measure the steps that I take during my daily walking exercise. I do not need or want all the other fluff that many devices come with (heart rate, bluetooth sync, auto upload, other activity tracking, etc.). A simple pedometer for tracking exercise steps is exactly what I want, and the One Tweak is just that. It appears to be very acurate at counting steps and distance. The calories burned appear to be a bit high, but I have nothing to compare too, so I can not say for certain. I really like that it filters out short movements of less than 10 steps. That allows me to wear it all day, and only count steps taken when I am ligitmately walking some where, and not just getting up to pull a file or something from only a few steps away. I have not had any problems with the clip being weak as some have suggeted. I clip to my pants pocket opening with the pedometer inside my pocket, and it seems to be fine. I have not experienced any problems with it comming unclipped or the clip breaking, so it is fine for me. The reset bustton is in a location where you could accidently reset it when unclipping the pedoometer from you pocket. I have been careful though and this has actually not been a problem for me. You just need to be aware of this potential, and it is not hard to avoid this accident. All in all, I give the One Tweak Pedometer 5 stars. It is a great product and exactly what I was looking for. I like the fact that the CEO of this small company emailed me to offer setup support and follow up on how I liked the product. I did not need any setup support, but I did exchange a breif email with her, and appreciate the dedication to satisfying her customers. I normally do not write product reviews, but decided to in this case specifically because of her support efforts.

Finally, an accurate pedometer at a reasonable price
Finally, a pedometer that's accurate, tracks useful information, has a holder with a strong clip, a lanyard if you prefer to hang it on your neck, is well designed and seems well built. I've dropped it on the street and it just kept going. Add to that, it's very reasonably priced. The best part is the customer service. The owner has sent three emails offering helpful hints and tips and even provided a personal cell phone number if needed. The owner's emails almost begged me to call if I needed any help with setup or any questions for that matter. It's like the customer service is from another planet! I asked one question in an email before using the device. The response came back in about an hour with five paragraphs of explanation, offering more than one option to accomplish what I wanted to do. Not even Apple does that. Several reviews have mentioned the difficulty with setup. I found the instructions to be clear with both text and pictures, concise but comprehensive, large type font and well illustrated in color. This is an electronic device with lots of features and if you want to set it up to take advantage of all of them, you need to be able to follow and execute 9 steps. I'm trying not to overstate this but, to me, these instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The only difficulty I had in setup was the quick timeout on each setup step. For example, when you're entering your stride length, if you don't do it quickly, it times out in just a few seconds. The first time through, I thought about some of the prompts too long and got timed out. The second time through, I wrote all the answers down and entered them quickly. Doing so got it setup on the second try. In one of the helpful emails, the owner warns you to act quickly to avoid timeouts. Other than that I found setup to be straightforward and logical. A note of caution: if you're using the holder/clip to attach the device to you pocket or belt or whatever, be aware that the buttons are located right about where you put your thumb or forefinger to release the clip. Thus, it wouldn't be too hard to inadvertently press a button when removing the device from your pocket, belt, etc. However, it's not a big problem. Unless you press and then hold the button for a few seconds, no harm is done. This is the third pedometer I've tried, one of which was a pricey Fitness Band (which was not at all accurate whenever I was sweating). This is the best of the three. I've only used it for a week, so if something changes, I'll update this review.

4.8 Rating
I read the negative reviews of the pedometers at this price range and selected this OneTweak. It arrived in good shape a few days earlier than promised. One common negative comment about these pedometers is inaccurate counting of steps - the OneTweak did not have comments about inaccuracy and that's why I picked it. I have found that it is accurate. A negative comment about the OneTweak is difficulty with set up -- I received the quickstart guide and had absolutely no trouble getting started. It took me about 5 minutes max. The quickstart guide has diagrams and simple instructions. Big bonus for me, with my 60-year-old eyes: I did not need reading glasses to see the instructions or read the numbers and markings on the device. The other common negative comment about the OneTweak is that the device clip is not secure. I have found that to be true. When I clip it on the front of my waistband, it pops off when I bend over. I have successfully clipped it on a belt loop which results in a big bulge under my shirt and on my bra which subjects it to sweat when I'm exercising. Overall, a great product, just needs a tighter clip. I want to give it a 4.8. Edit: So, what about the lanyard, you might be asking? Well, evidently Ms. Cat knocked it off the counter and her partner in crime, Mr. Dog, chewed off the plastic and metal, leaving me with just the strap. That Darn Cat.
