A small air conditioner for a small room during limited uncomfortable nights.
This little air conditioner stands about 3 and a half feet high (read the specs on the product web page in Amazon). It moves on casters, which makes it easy to move out of the way - it's heavy for its size. Due to its BTU capacity, it's really meant for a bedroom or other small room. Initially, it generates a lot of condensation. So you have to watch it as it cools down a room!! It will fill a 1 gallon bottle in very little time. However, once it has cooled a room sufficiently, then the condensation production slows. You should keep the door to the room closed so that more humid air does not enter. Also, don't go to bed before the coolness in the room has stabilized. Otherwise, you will flood your carpet! It is somewhat low in noise generation. It comes with a window sleeve with a hole in it and an accordian style venting hose. When setting up the unit, you install the window sleeve, stretch the venting hose until it meets the window sleeve, connect the condensation drainage tube put the end of the tube in the large empty bottle for containing the condensation and away you go. I set the settings for 71 F degrees and a moderate fan speed. This little air conditioner seems to do the job. I don't need more because we live up in the mountains where we have few uncomfortably hot and humid days. I'd recommend this product to everyone who wants to cool just one little room without going through the hassle of installing a large heavy air conditioner for only a small number of uncomfortable nights.

Works great
Initial review: we got these units as supplements to our central air in Phoenix. It does a great job in cooling down our sleeping rooms where the central air just isn’t able to cool those areas very well. I made some modification when setting up the window hot air exhaust hose. - you will probably need an additional window kit. Our vertical window was too large and our smaller winders were too small for the kit that came with the units. Too bad because they seemed like good quality items. - to add stability for the exhaust plate block In the window, I cut some cardboard, rolled it up into a round long piece, wrapped it in duct tape and wedged it between the window and the plate. This keeps the exhaust plate my more sturdy in the window. - on my vertical window, to keep it from sliding open at all (unlikely to happen but still) I had some suction cups that screw onto the window and increase the suction grip as you screw. I placed three of these along the window and now they won’t open at all. - to create some more insulation at the exhaust plate, I cut a piece of cardboard to the plate and then bought some foam insulation and glued it to the cardboard. Now just place that in the window behind the exhaust plate to prevent more hot air from coming in.

Fast Cooling for Smaller Rooms; Window Kit Could Be Better
I purchased this air conditioning last year for my apartment's loft bedroom which is at the highest point of the building and has a sloped ceiling and therefore gets very hot and stuffy in the summer. Setting it up was fairly quick and easy and it does a great job at lowering the temperature and removing the humidity in the room in a short time. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because of the window kit - the extensions made the piece way too long for my window. I ended up cutting a piece of styrofoam and sliding that into the end of the main piece and then using duct tape to hold all of it in place. The plastic pieces are not constructed in a way that you can push them down and have them straddle the bottom of the window. Instead you need to balance it on top, close the window, and then tape everything so it holds. At least, this was the best way I found of doing it. I may look into a universal window kit. I didn't think it was any louder than a standard in-the-window/wall A/C unit. I got used to the noise right away (it's really only noisy when the compressor kicks in) and it totally acts as white noise to block out sounds from neighbors. You will need a decent sized bucket for the drain hose especially on humid days/evenings because it pulls a ton of water from the air, even in a smaller room. But the inconvenience of emptying a water bucket every day is totally worth it to have a cool room to sleep in during the summer. And the cat loves it, too!

Poorly designed and dangerous
Do not buy this unit! After a year or so I started getting crazy sinus issues out of nowhere. Then the unit stopped cooling. I had an ac repair friend stop by to give it a Quick Look. He showed me how the top filters were flimsy and hardly did anything. Then he opened the unit and audibly gasped. The entire unit was covered in mold. Also the bottom section has no way to clean the filter near the floor. Just for a reference my house never gets above 72 degrees and we have dehumidifiers everywhere. He said he couldn’t believe how poorly designed this was and based on how it was designed he was shocked it lasted this long. He also said based on the design he would bet almost all of the units will be prone to housing mold on the inside unless they are fully taken apart regularly cleaned professionally! I spoke with my doctor and he 100% believes this unit has been the culprit of my recent severe sinus issues. Breathing in mold at night when you sleep is a recipe for disaster. Do not buy this unit. It is poorly designed and has a high likelihood of housing mold without you being able to get to it and an even higher chance of breaking down long before you expect it to. I put in a complaint to the manufacturer through Amazon but based on other reviews here it doesn’t sound like they will be much help. Avoid this unit at all cost!

I’ve been using this air conditioner for a few weeks now, and it has completely changed the comfort level in my home. It cools the room down quickly—even on those scorching hot days—and the fan modes are powerful but surprisingly quiet. I especially love the remote control and timer function, which make it super convenient to adjust settings without getting up. Installation was straightforward and didn’t take long. The unit is also energy-efficient, which I appreciate since I’ve noticed no significant increase in my electricity bill. Overall, this is a reliable and sleek-looking unit that does its job extremely well. Highly recommended for anyone needing relief from the heat!

Works great! One thing I learned is that the hoses are standardized, and if the included window kit doesn't work in your situation, you can buy alternate ones here on Amazon. In my case, my window was in a basement apartment, and high on the wall. My measurements were just 17"x10", so the included kit would not fit. The solution was to close the window on the plain hose and put the flap of a small cardboard box above it. This works fine until I buy a proper window kit. It is loud on low settings, but it's a whish sound I can get used to. The "Dry" setting seems to be just a fan from the outside. I have no problem cooling a 10'x12' room so far, but my region won't get 30C days until July. Update: We got an early summer! I just passed 31C outside and had no problem staying cool. When set to 22C, my desk remained at 23.7C all afternoon. Also I have not filled a soda bottle with drippings in weeks. If the cooling seems to stop, ensure a tight seal around your window with the hose. -Simple to install -Good value -Good cooling performance -Adaptable to many window types

I live in Canada, but I'm really averse to heat and can't stand indoor temperatures when it's anything higher than 24C (75F) outside. After the heat dome of last year, I swore to myself that I'd get an AC before May of this year, which was a great call because this unit arrived just in time for another heat dome of 27C - 30C (80 to 86F) a day for the upcoming week. My roommate hates AC for whatever reason, so I just wanted something that could cool a very small bedroom (roughly 150 square feet), was affordable, and wasn't a window unit. Based on other reviews, I went for this model (SLPAC105W). Absolutely gets the job done. If it's aimed anywhere in my direction, it has me shivering, so it's almost overkill for a small room. I deliberately take fully cold showers everyday to the point of being quite cold adapted, so believe me when I say that this thing produces some serious coooold. So long to the days of having to spray water on myself and aim a fan in my direction (which barely ever did anything). The cold air comes out within seconds unlike, say, a car's AC, which is a comparison I used because the lowest temperature setting on this thing is 16C (60F), which is the lowest my car's AC does. Installation was quite easy. I will point out that the window attachment was too long for my window of 32 inches, so keep that in mind. I've seen another reviewer mention cutting down the window attachment to fit, but I lack the tools to do this, so I just discarded the slide in part and duct taped some spare plastic to cover the 7 inches of opening that remained. Seemed to form enough of a seal to get the job done and I'm not too concerned with maximal efficiency here. The unit is a lot noisier than I expected, even on "low", which is sort of okay with me considering I like ambient noise and always had an air purifier and tower fan running at all times, but if loud noise bothers you, keep that in mind. My noise cancelling earbuds are strong enough to block out my air purifier and tower fan when both on together and strong enough to block out even the ambient engine noise of my car, but they're not strong enough to block out the noise of this unit. Be mindful of that if the unit is close to your bed. I suppose that's what the sleep timer is for, though I haven't tried that out yet. But better to have a cool room than a hot one, right? Maybe a good idea to run it in the hours leading up to sleep if noise is an issue. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Surpassed my expectations. I used to dread summer and literally preferred even -40C (-40F) Canadian winters, but now I look at the upcoming forecast of back to back 30C (86F) days with optimism knowing I've got this AC handy. Shivering as I type this! Highly recommended.

We have had this AC for a couple of months now. We live in a small apartment and this AC is in the bedroom. It’s easy to use and fairly quiet - has never disturbed my child’s sleep. It puts out a lot of cold air, and I would say it works much better than the window AC we have in our living room. This AC is helping to keep our whole apartment cool. We shopped around for a long time trying to find something good but still affordable. I’m so glad we picked this unit because it’s working really well. It’s only been a couple months, but we have absolutely no complaints. Great price, great product, great purchase.
