Definitly needed and works shockingly well
I think it might be the cheapest thing you can buy from profoto in the light shaping and defusing department. Or maybe the whole company :) I will say I should have got them earlier for my umbrellas. It's everything old school profoto was. The quality, and durability are awesome and again for a profoto item only costing $50 is nice. I always thought their lowest price of anything was $99 <g>

Awesome complement for a Profoto Deep Umbrella, is very lightweight and transform the umbrella in a softbox on the fly, the result is a lovely softlight, very recommended for travel and studio :DIn the picture you can see in action, he is a driver who helped me as an assistant while making photos in an indigenous community in Colombia
