Stainless Steel Replacement Spigot for Beverage Dispenser and Berkey Filter

We ordered two spigots at the same time. One handle had to be held in place to keep flowing. The other handle could be flipped straight up, and it would flow automatically. Amazon sent a third one to determine which one was correct. We returned the one that had to be held in place. We LOVED the silicone washers that were thick and curved outward on both sides; a GREAT seal! The flow rate was noticeably less than the plastic spigots. Not impressed. They are beautiful, though.

The old silver plastic dispenser that was attached to the beverage cooler I've had for a few years was flaking and silver paint pieces were floating in my water. I decided to replace it with this steel dispenser. When it arrived I unscrewed the handle from the spigot and found dirt and rust on the inside. It was easy to clean and I was glad that I checked this before installing it. It was easy to install. It did start leaking around the base of the spigot and the hole of the plastic container. I found that I screwed the spigot on too tight. I loosened the nut a bit and the leaking stopped. I have been using the spigot non-stop for 3 weeks and I haven't had any more issues.

Nice and sturdy metal love the weight and you can tell it's durable. Unfortunately it was too big for my picture. I still have it and plan on using it for a rain barrel. Nice piece.

Easy to install on a big Berkey water filter. I think I only used the rubber washer on the inside. All water tight seals I have done work best with seal on interior only and other side to be metal on metal to have firm contact. Used to brew beer and that is always how weldless fittings sealed best. The actual housing of this spigot is stainless and would last for much longer but the interior valve mechanism is plastic and seems to have worn so that when open it is only a very slow trickle. It is not pulling/compressing enough anymore when in the fully open position and don't think it can be fixed easily so will need to buy another. Is a shame because the metal is in such good shape. Would gladly buy the guts if they sold those separately.

Made of metal, good value. Tight seal. Fast flow when in use. It was easy to swap out the cheap plastic one that came with the dispenser and screw in this metal one. Almost went with a slightly cheaper version, but am glad I spent the extra $2 and ordered this one. I also like that it can't accidently be left in the open position. Releasing the lever will automatically seal the flow. Buy this one, it has no flaws. It looks nice and works great.

Spigot is a little narrow at the pouring end however the larger issue was that the interior of the Spigot was horribly dirty!!! Who looks inside? I did. Oily and grimy throughout the interior. It took me well over an hour to get it mostly clean. I simply ran out of steam and I had already taken off the crappy leaky spigot off my new beautiful glass Zero filter. They should put in a better spigot. So this new spigot is dispensing healthy clean water through a vile, disgusting, blackened, grimy spigot. Please don't buy this spigot until this is resolved. It would have been ok otherwise. Who knows what the grime is? I just saw the film about teflon that had the hulk in it and the cattle kept dying and the kids had black teeth so I'm really cautious with potentially noxious compounds. Pick another spigot people. this is really horrible and not visible from the exterior. I'd like to add...Echhh!!!! Just to add...a bought another spigot which i'll try instead and use this one in the garden where i'll feel more comfortable with it

This spout is definitely 10x better than what my glass pitcher came with. I had a plastic spout and after 3days of use it was leaking so I purchased this one. I've been using this daily and their is no leaks and it pours like a champ!!

I have a water jug I used for guests at parties, and they ended up often leaving the valve open and spilling water. This solves that and I love it. It fit perfectly into my 5 gal jug.
