Very difficult for kids
I did this with my 8 year old grandson. We had previously put together the robotic snake which was a great success. This bug was frustrating as the legs kept falling off as you screw it together. Luckily his father did it for us and he was able to use it.

Was a hit
Bought this a gift for my nephew. He absolutely loved it, was building it straight away. Needed a bit of help from his dad. Just make sure you have 2 x AAA batteries - hadn't realised you need batteries, luckily I have a supply.

Incredibly hard to make
I bought this for my 7 year old as he loves frogs and building things. However, it was so hard to make, he struggled to understand what to do and left it for Mummy to make. I have just finished and there is no way on earth he would have had the hand strength to even closely tighten the screws, as I struggled to make it how I would generously call shoddy. It says 8+, and the finished product would be good for this age range to play with, however I feel like I have over paid for this, as he got no enjoyment from the actual build, which is essentially an USP for this.

Disappointing
This product is not suitable for any age child and can only be effectively constructed by an adult. The instructions are unclear and the individual parts are not labelled, making it very complicated. The motor only worked for a few minutes before running out of the power needed to make the panda actually roll-over. As a highly prized Christmas present for my 9 year old daughter, this led to great disappointment and much upset. Too complicated, too flimsy and poorly designed. Furthermore, It should come with its own screwdriver to enable simpler assembly as most households will not possess the exact right size of screwdriver for this toy.
