I can rest easy with this candle in its own glass jar and it has a strong scent within a half hour of burning it that I'm not allergic to and my partner said he thinks it smells like a vanilla tapioca pudding rather than a cupcake, and I agree. My small senior apartment complex isn't allowed to have candles that aren't in a safe heat resistant glass container so this is perfect. It is important to trim the wick prior to using it and each time thereafter to 1/4". Instructions are listed on the product box.
