Can i use the reader with a normal usb connector as my laptop does not have usb c

I don't know for sure. Probably you CAN 'use' it, but I don't think you'd get any of the speed advantages of the CFExpress card.. You can buy (very cheaply) a USB c connector to try - it'll only cost you a couple of bucks (or borrow one).

Just wondering if this would work in a canon 1dx mark i? i can't work out if it will only work in mark ii.

will this card work with a Fuji X-H2 camera

Only if the Fuji camera will connect with this card. They are not camera specific, but I only use Nikon cameras and so have never had to deal with this questi9n.

Whilst there may be some cfExpress type B readers that do indeed read XQD cards, My SanDisk cfExpress type B Reader does not read the Lexar XQD cards so the answer is a FIRM NO. (both big grand names so buyer beware)...
