Riedel 1234/28 Winewings Champagne Wine Glass, Single Stem, Clear

This is a beautiful glass but it is also very delicate. You have to be very careful when handling it.

Got the Champagne, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Pinot Noir glass and they’ve become my go to glasses. The flatter shape at the bottom creates a nice surface area for more aeration, acting as a mini decanter. I like them so much I’ve started to give away my other glasses. In particular, the Chardonnay glass works well as a universal glass if you want to just get a set of one type. All the people complaining about the fragility of the glass must be using inappropriate washing and drying techniques. I’ve used many different kinds of crystal stemware and these are fine strength wise. The important thing is to avoid using thick towels to dry them. A thin microfiber towel for washing and a lint free cloth for drying is the way to go. Never twist the glass by the stem when drying. Haven’t broken one yet with daily use.

The shape of these glasses is very unique and over the years I've learned to trust Riedel's designs that enhance the tasting experience. These champagne stems were no exception....I have to admit I was skeptical but glad I allowed past experience to guide this purchase....I'll be ordering more to share with friends.

I own the Cabernet, Sav Blanc, and Champagne versions of these glasses. As others have mentioned, these are fine glasses and require utmost gentle care. I have not broken any but I can definitely acknowledge that, if not paying attention, it will be easy to break them. All three are outstanding at highlighting the aromatic characteristics of the wine. However, I must admit, when it comes to champagne, I prefer the taller flute glasses that allow better appreciation of the bubbles. These glasses are flat bottomed and as such, for champagne, they offer very limited visual appreciation of what makes champagne special... that is the bubbles. So, I have reverted to using the updated versions of the flute that allow wider glasses that open at the middle and close at the top. For champagne, this is a radical re-design of the glass that just did not work for me.

This wine glass is oddly big and in the way really. I haven’t even used it because I don’t want to wash it. I generally like Riedel and prefer a Chardonnay glass for champagne. This glass looked like a good option, but it’s just very odd to hold. May update once I actually use it. I also have a Dom P champagne glass which a better size and shape.

I love Riedel Winewings. They look great, feel great when holding, easy to clean. I love that they have a different look than other wine glasses, but still give you the room to get the right swirl. Definitely recommend!

Gastar cientos de euros en champagne y beberlo en una copa flauta??? 🙃🙃 A diferencia de lo que leí en comentarios, no son extremadamente frágiles. Son delicadas, naturalmente, pero tampoco es que no se pueden manipular. Hay que lavarlas con cariño. Recomienda la gente de Riedel, para un lavado normal y no excesivamente minucioso, usar mucho detergente y generar mucha espuma. Salud 🥂
