Planet Audio MB1200.1D Mini Bang Series Class D Car Amplifier - 1200 High Output, Low/High Level Inputs, Low/High Pass Crossover, Bass for Subwoofer

I've been listening to this 5 channel amp for about 1 1/2 years now, and have come to some conclusions about it, and the technology behind it. Must comments will be about this specific amp, but I'll have a few about class D, also.This amp is good for a daily driver system. Keep the volume at a reason level, and you can expect a decent 50-70 watts/channel to the mids/highs in your vehicle. If you push it much more than that, it looses control QUICKLY. With the gains properly adjusted, I can play reasonably loud, enough to annoy my wife, and make my daughter smile. As far as the sub channel goes, I appreciate the efficiency of class D, but miss the damping of a good class A/B amp. Where the main channels loose control of the speakers, the sub gets pretty loud. I am using an 8ohm sub, so I am not pushing very hard, but it allows for more extended time listening. (It keeps the amp cooler by not pushing the current draw.) I had to go to a sealed enclosure, once again because of the amp loosing control of the speakers. The distortion gets rough, and the first sub I put in blew after about 7 months of listening, so a redesign was in order. Sealed enclosures keep control of the subs better, and gives more room for forgiveness. EDM is perfect with this amp. The built in distortion hides the glass of this amp. Listening to rock/classical/ anything where quality is critical, demands you keep the volume reasonable. The adjustable sun channel helps with that. I pushed the gains on the sub channel, and keep the sub knob lower for normal listening, but can push it up when needed.Ultimately, this amp is worth what you pay for it. If you want concert quality, stay away from class D, especially on YouTube mids/highs, but it is acceptable, but not preferable to class A/B on the subs.

So far so good. Replaced my factory amp, fits under my passenger seat in a 15 Frontier 4x. Awesome sound, balances everything just right, easy to wire (even if you don't know what you're doing). Hasn't overheated or went into protection mode even after turning it up for hours. Loving the sep bass control (5CH). I used 4g wiring, do not use anything smaller than 8g wiring. And do NOT get a Boss wiring kit. Get quality for this quality amp

I wanted a class d amp. Because I didn't want to text my electrical system too much. The planet audio amplifier met my requirements. It's not going to blast the whole neighborhood but inside the car it's not bad. Not as dynamic as a class baby but I was looking to not over text my electrical system

I really doubt this pushes 1200 watts. I have it hooked up to a 2ohm dvc 10” Skar and my 8” CT sounds with a boss 1100 blows it away. I even hooked the 10” to the boss and it sounds much more powerful. But for its size and power draw its not bad. If you low on space or 12vamps. I still like it but realistically its not pushing 1200 wattsUpdate!!Started clipping at high volume after a month….

This amp didn’t really last me that long but was worth what I spent

I bought the 2200W, 5 channel amp. Iv read the reviews regarding false power claims. I know MOSFET power switching is way more efficient then old bulky amplifiers (less power being wasted as heat), so I decided to give it a try. I don’t have any verifying power readings, but I have the amp powering 4 upgraded door speakers (rated around 300W each) using the first four amplifier channels, and it sounds great. Loud, clean sound. So in theory, I should be able to power a sub on channel 5 with no problems based on the power rating of the amp, but Iv yet to get that far. I have a secondary amp in case this one can’t handle it. I also like that all the connectors simply plug into the amp. Iv had to remove and reinstall the amp a couple times during initial install and wiring, so the plug and play was very handy. Conclusion, amp works great for door speakers at very least and doesn’t get very hot.

I bough this amp for my wife and her dual 12" MTX Thunder speaker she has. They are 2 ohm. It sounded pretty good( I mean those aren't very high quality bass dropping speakers). I have my own stereo system. I have 2 12" Fosgate P3's in a slotted box. I was running a Pioneer champion series 9601D 2400 watts @ 1 ohm. I fried it, twice actually in just a few years. So I borrowed my wife's amp. I was absolutely floored. This little mini bang clowns.. It doesn't claim to put out 1200 at 1 ohm it says 900 @ 1 ohm. I will have to upload a video of how hard it makes my 12's flex. I would go out and do it right now, but I am at work and it would cause to much a scene. Seriously I have read the other reviews and I think the other people are having issues because they have 2 ohms speakers and then the amp only puts out 450 watts. I did an 8 hour road trip with the music cranked and it never got remotely hot. I'm so freaking impressed with this Planet Audio Amp I think I am going to buy a bigger one!

It has 2-15amp fuses meaning on it's best day it'll push out 300 watts. That said I had put it on a 600 watt RMS 12"sub. And it has a clean sound it just wasn't able to push the speaker. Great little amplifier, just wish it would have been properly advertised.
