Believe me! You will need rechargeable batteries for 9V application! If you think about it, you will find that there are a lot of 9V batteries in your home. Garage door openers and smoke detectors are the most common ones in our home, and they usually don’t need to be replaced from time to time. However, when the time comes, you will need a replacement right away, and the chances are, you don’t have them stocked at home! NiMH Rechargeable batteries are the only alternatives in the past, and they do solve some of the problems. However, if you really switch to the NiMH alternative, you will soon discover when you need to recharge them, their capacity becomes nearly half unless you use the very expansive, top of the line, and even those won’t last till the third year! I have been using 3.7V Li-ion rechargeable batteries on my wireless security cameras for years, and they still work very well. This is why when I decide to replace the 9V disposable batteries; I choose to go with the Li-ion option. Hixon has one of the highest capacity 9V Lithium in Amazon search (850mAh), so I decided to give it a try. The package arrived on time is neatly wrapped in plastic to avoid accidental short of the electrodes. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge them and then is good to be placed in the smoke detectors. So far I have no issues with these batteries, and the ultra high capacity should last me 2 to 3 years without worrying to replace them or recharge them. I think this Li-ion 9V will replace all other types in the near future. Remember, you want to look for higher capacity than the 230mAh or 600mAh (some of them say 5400mW) models, because it will save you a few times to claim high to change/charge the batteries！

I was surprised to find rechargeable 9 volt batteries as I was just use to buying them, however after having to constantly replace them (most of the IT Diagnostic equipment I use to trace jacked up fiber and cat 6 lines uses them) however these ones appear to last a bit longer than the store bought batteries however the one thing I love is they fit a lot better than the store bought batteries and don't require a ton of force or have the top prongs break off, so I will be buying more as so far these things haven't let me down yet.

Great battery replacement for all 9 volt items requiring this type of battery. I put them in my detectors as they seem to be needing replacement battery frequently. Now I do not need the ladder as frequently to replace the detector battery.

9V Li-ion technology seems promising compared to 9V NiMH. After charging, Li-ion reaches to 8.64V while NiMH reaches to 9.10V. Using them in device (operates within range of 9.2~7.9V) for 10min standby, Li-ion loses 0.02V (20mV) while NiMH loses 0.2V (200mV). Although, it's not considered as a full test/comparison, nevertheless, a large amperage capacity definitely will assist with long-term period, particularly for heavy application consumptions. However, initial pricing in here seems a higher compared to outside (regardless of other fees). After all, it's recommended item.
