Not impressed, stings and made skin sensitive
Initial thought might be counterfeit as the metal around the spray was slightly bent and the spray wouldn’t work. Got it working with some wiggling. But after a few days this product left my skin sensitive and stinging, even when applying other moisturisers after that I’m usually fine with.

EH Exfoliating Brightening Tonic 100ml A couple of spritzes gets your skin ready to apply a serum and then a moisturizer. I like the light feel of this toner and that you don't need to use a cotton pad or your fingers to apply it. You lose a lot of product that way. This has a light citrus /floral fragrance and it feels very cooling when applied. #alcohol-free Key Ingredients Antioxidant: Bakuchiol, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil Cell-communicating ingredient: Bakuchiol Exfoliant: Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract Skin-identical ingredient: Glycerin Soothing: Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice ALL INGREDIENTS BY FUNCTION Antimicrobial/antibacterial: Bakuchiol, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil Buffering: Citric Acid Chelating: Phytic Acid Emulsifying: PEG-40 Hydrogenated Caster Oil Moisturizer/humectant: Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Perfuming: Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil Expressed, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Parfum (Fragrance), Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil Preservative: Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Ethylhexylglycerin Solvent: Aqua (Water), Limonene Surfactant/cleansing: PEG-40 Hydrogenated Caster Oil iNGREDIENTS Aqua (Water), Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Caster Oil, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, 1-Methylhydranto-in-2-Imide, Bakuchoil, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Citric Acid, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil Expressed, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Ethlhexylglycerin, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Juniperus Virginiana (Cedarwood) Oil, Limonene, Phytic Acid, Linalool, Parfum (Fragrance), Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Citrus, Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil

Emma Hardies' Amazing lip balm was so great, thought as I spray my face all day, Tonic had to work somewhere. On my 50+face, there's just no significant difference. I applied to microfiber cloth & wiped. Sprayed directly to face as make-up prep. Sprayed directly to face as a refresh. No glow, no exfoliating smoothness on the 1st 2. As the last one, it's a nice hydrator and gentle to the eyes. Keep in travel bag as a back-up. Just not a Go To.

"Directions: Shake before use. After thoroughly cleansing the skin, close your eyes and spray the exfoliating tonic onto a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over the face, neck and décolleté. Press any excess left on the skins surface directly into the skin. Follow with your usual skin treatment - serums and or moisturisers using morning and evening after thoroughly cleansing the skin" A tonic, not a toner. This is meant to be sprayed on and wiped away. So for that I am treating this kind of like an old school toner in terms of how it used, and when I use it (but it isn't an astringent). I'd rather spray on, pat in. Maybe I will give that a go. Maybe it will be more effective. I normally only use hydrating toners that are meant to be applied and left. Not wiped away. This is different for me. So most days I use this first, then follow up with my hydrating toners and essences. I apply it before because of the ferments and the Bakuchoil (retinol alternative, also like retinol is a chemical exfoliant). I figure I want exfoliators closer to my skin. It contains castor oil, which I know softens and possibly thins the skin, so I am not a big fan of it on my face. I also know that it can encourage facial hair growth in some people (personally, I dont care). Maybe there isnt enough to be a concern. I dont know. I do like, if not love EH products, so I am hoping this is overall good for my skin. Their expert tip is to pair it with use with their Purifying Clay Detox Mask "for extra brightening and glow prior to creams and serums". Which I have! Think I will add this to that treatment. But I may use it on body instead. I guess I just dont love it (yet?). Has lots of essential oils, which does not bother my skin.. but I know some people are adamant to avoid ingredients like that. This is the third Emma Hardie product I have been introduced to recently, and I love them all! This particular product, the Exfoliating Brightening Tonic, happens to fit into my unique skincare regimen perfectly. After I wash my face in the morning, I usually use a BHA or AHA exfoliating toner, and then I go have a cup of coffee and give my toner a chance to do its thing. I only come back and use my serum and moisturizer a little later. For the last week and a half, I have been using my new EH Exfoliating Brightening Tonic in place of my usual toner, and I think it is working beautifully. Its formula relies on pomegranate enzymes to sort of "unglue" the bonds between dead cells on the surface of your skin, allowing them to be sloughed off, revealing younger, brighter skin underneath. It's a much gentler way to exfoliate than the acids I had been using. Another perk of this product? It smells DIVINE! I really love the scent, and it is a great way to wake up in the morning. And all Emma Hardie products are free of parabens, sulfates, artificial colors and fragrances, and mineral oils and petroleum products. They are also vegetarian and 100% cruelty-free! While the directions say to use a cotton pad to apply this product, I like to spray it directly onto my face, then lightly press it into my skin. But if you prefer a cotton pad, you can make your morning a little greener with reusable bamboo cotton pads. Check my "Cruelty-free Beauty" idea list in my profile for a link to a set I love. I really like this product a lot! It is a little bit expensive, but so far, I think it's worth it. It smells heavenly, and it exfoliates gently without damaging your skin's barrier. It has been a great addition to my routine, and I enthusiastically recommend it! I hope my experience with this product might help YOU make a more informed purchase. Happy shopping!

Emma Hardie is one brand I have never really put much stock into and never had a chance to try anything from them even though I have a bit of an obsession with high end skin care. But after trying this Exfoliating brightening tonic that’s going to change! So far I’m pretty impressed with this spray toner. First, it doesn’t have a horrible smell like most toners, this actually smells good! But best of all it works well. It defiantly brightens my face up! It also absorbs decently fast and doesn’t leave any residue or stickiness behind. Plus the sprayer is good and doesn’t deposit large droplets all over. And I have not had any issues with breakouts since I started using it 2 weeks ago.
