A tea light only is what I use and recommend.

Can I put this on the stove top to heat up milk?

While yes you can use on stovetop- you wouldn’t put milk in it because of the oil absorption layer (you should season with a little oil after use) after putting milk in it - everything after would taste like milk!!!

would this work over a campfire in case no candles are available?
