Super Dungeon Explore: Caverns of Roxor

Pros: This is a most excellent set of miniatures. Like the other expansions, all the figures are pre-assembled. Before you start painting, you may want to wash them off, as they have that powder from the molds on them. Anyways, the detail on the models is fantastic, and I saw no flashing on any of them. Most Excellent. The cards are just as good as the base set, including thickness. I can't wait to start playing with these new guys. Cons: Expensive, like the other model sets from Soda Pop. Then again, if you are into model or gaming miniatures, you know you get what you pay for. Other Thoughts: This is a great expansion to a great game. If you like painting your models, there are lots of great ideas for schemes online, and SDE models are a refreshing change of pace from other models (Privateer Press and Games Workshop, for example). If you're not a painter, there are services to paint them for you, or you can play with them as is, they're really quite attractive models.

Painting these pieces is really meditative for me. I don't want to break the bank on this hobby, but I also want to be doing pieces that are intricate enough to keep me engaged. This was a great set that has kept me engaged for some time. There's some great detail to these figures that allow for nice highlighting and lowlighting.

OK, so today I got 2 more boxes with miniatures. Caverns of Roxor and von Drakk Manor. First of: there are no new plates and/or dices so you need the basic-game to play it. Besides that I was very surprised. The miniatures are already put together. Or almost all. 3 needed some extra work. They are more detailed and really funny. I mean: A princess? Shells? Anymon said Mario Bros? For those who already bought the game this is a excellent expansion! In this box you will find 3 heroes: a princess in a pink dress, a little guy with a sword/shield and boomerang and a guy with a hammer... yes, thats what I thought too. Your heroes will fight against the evil boss Roxor and his flaming army and the rock top gang. Turtles and fire-elementals. As a mini-boss you get a burning troll. You cant go wrong with this set of awesome miniatures.

Another good expansion for Super dungeon Explore. I'd say that I like the hero models the best out of here. Make sure that you get the upgrade deck if you're playing with the new Forgotten King expansion as it updates the stat cards for models. I don't think it's been re-released yet so this item can be a little hard to find now. If you're a D&D player these models would be a great addition to your library for use on that upcoming weekly campaign.

this is a nice product if you already have the SDE game, this expansion brings new challenges and lots of fun. Only drawback is that compared to the original SDE this expansion is a little unbalanced making it to be really hard to play sometimes

I must point out that these are NOT deals... This game was going for around 35-40ish Dollars around Aug/Sept. Just would like any one reading this review that the game is FUN! but this is no deal of any kind!

If you like Super Dungeon Explore this is definitely worth the money. It adds a huge amount of variety to the game by giving the Consul totally new playing styles since the monsters strengths are so radically different than the base set. It's needs more tiles and there's still way too much fire elemented monsters to really vary the feel of the game, but it's a good addition. A little pricey, but it does a good job for an expansion set.

If they had thrown in a few dice, i would be giving a 5 star rating. Well balanced between monsters and adventurers. 50:50 on the wins so far!
