Hornady 043355 Lock-N-Load Sonic Gun Cartridge Cleaner Solution, Quart

I've used this product before, and due to how much it costs explored several homemade concoctions. The homemade mixes work, but not as well or as quickly as this product. This product also seems to last longer than some of the homemade mixes. Despite the slightly greater cost initial cost, this product actually comes out cheaper per ounce per number of cartridges cleaned compared to the homemade mixes. Even using this cleaning solution in my cheap Chinesium Harbor Freight sonic cleaner works well enough.

cleans better than the competition and you use less per gallon 1.00 ber gallon compaired to 2.00 per gallon of the franford stuff and it does a way better job

I've been using a variety of cleaners mostly with blah results. However, with this cleaner (Hornady) the brass really shines. The stuff really works well. I would like to share an experience with the retailer that I bought it from (The Rooster Sports). When my box came in. The fluid had leaked through the cap. That left the container mostly empty, but Rooster Sports sent a replacement; no extra cost. That was awesome to stand by your service. Thanks!

Hornady makes GREAT Products, this works perfectly with my Hornady sonic cleaner, One oune per 40 Ounces of water, (filtered water is reccomended) It cleans every part of the BRASS, the Primer hole is clean as a whistle, and they all come out shiny as can be, just dont overload it with brass or it wont work as well and it will take longer. DO NOT USE THE GUN PARTS CLEANER TO CLEAN BRASS.

I know there are numerous recipes out there to clean brass. This solution is however concentrated. I tested my first batch using it and it worked for many hours on hundreds if not a thousand cases different sizes at that from 45acp to 7MM and .308cal no 9mm, for the 1oz i used. the Brass does come out very clean inside and out. Something a dry media tumbler doesn't do very weill with bottleneck cases. It does take a longer process after I run the sonic cleaner, i tend to leave the brass soaked in the solution over night just for kicks and even though the sonic cleaner isnt running the brass comes out nice. I then take the brass out and lay it flat on an old towel in the garage and let it dry naturally while I'm at work. by the time i get home you can start reloading. Excellent product for the price. Also i do not have the H*****y sonic, I have a Frankfurt so it will work in any sonic cleaner.

My Frankford Arsenal sonic cleaner had a bottle of cleaning solution with it. It did the job well enough and I accepted the fact that the brass from a sonic cleaner would not be as nice and shiny as from a tumbler. That bottle ran out and I bought the Hornady. To be honest, I bought it because the shape of the bottle fits better on the shelf of my reloading bench. The first batch I ran with the Hornady One Shot was so clean and glowing I was shocked. I deprime before cleaning, and I would say about half the primer pockets were totally clean. A second time in the sonic cleaner, using the same solution over again, and 3/4 of the primer pockets were glistening clean. A few still had some crud in them but it was so loose that a quick twirl with a Q-Tip was all it took to make them totally clean. This stuff is great.

I mixed up a batch for use in my ultrasonic. I was shocked at how much stuff came off the brass when I removed the basket of brass from the tank. The .38 special brass had been absolutely filthy going in and came out shiny. I've run all the brass I've had through it including stuff found on the range and all of it came out shiny. The 5.56 brass was pretty bad looking including stuff I've had for a few years when I started collecting the brass to eventually reload. Now the brass is all nice and shiny. The solution started as a nice rich green color but now after numerous batches of cases going in and out of the ultrasonic the solution is pretty murky. I figure I'll let it settle overnight before trying to filter out the remaining crud. I'd definitely buy this stuff again.
