I got 37"(95) Lyra. I am five feet and three inches (5'3) and I properly measured from a seated position from the seat to the top of my head and added a few inches for clearance. I wanted to be able to sit on the LYRA with head clearance. Doing this I ended up choosing the largest they had in stock (37"). Success! I am able to sit on the Lyra with no problems. It also allows more stretching room. I added Lyra tape to it and it works great. I will be using this Lyra for exercise on my weight loss journey. Lifting your body weight is a good way to gain strength and I highly recommend trying Lyra's as exercise devices. All components were very sturdy and well made. No complaints. FYI, If you are buying for a very small child this may not be right for you....Its diameter of its ring is thick. I consider this professional grade. A child will have trouble gripping. A teen should be able to grip it as I have small hands myself and I grip with no problems....but young child will have problems. The diameter taking a measuring string and measuring around it is 4 inches in diameter. Hope this helped as I had these same questions when looking to purchase.

It's a big, strong, stainless steel circle with a big, strong attachment point. Works well for my wife's practice and will handle my 200+ lbs with no issues.

I’ve never owned my own apparatus, so I have experience using a lot of different ones. I was surprised when I realized she really was thicker than your average lyra. But I’ve grown to love it, and now I actually prefer it. Some things are more difficult, some things are actually a little more comfortable. It’s an easy adjustment. I really don’t even notice a difference anymore since this has been my primary apparatus. She’s hollow, but a little heavier because of the width of the bar. The carabiners in the set are very easy to use even though they’re not auto-lock. The swivel spins like butter. I’m a very happy bird.

This is the first lyra I’ve owned and it definitely does the job! Safety isn’t a worry, this bad boy is very sturdy. The bar is a bit thicker than I’m used to but regardless it still works. I definitely recommend wrapping this guy though, two days of play and my hands are shredded. It’s worth it though! Also, I’m 5 foot 2 and got a 35 in hoop (for reference).

I’m pretty sure this is the Lyra I bought a few years back. I had it in my trunk two days ago and got hit by a semi when he didn’t see traffic slowing down. It must’ve taken some of the impact or something because I lived. The car wrapped around the Lyra and it’s completely unbent and undamaged. If you’re going for durability, this thing went up against a semi and won. I love it.

Bought the 35(90) perfect size to do acrobats. ( my height is 5'5 ) Use everything that came with the hoop. The tape has been very useful probably buy more if possible. Being very resistant makes me feel safe.

I am so excited to finally have my own hoop! It came earlier than expected. Definitely needs to be wrapped in a humid climate. But I love it and am so glad I can practice outside the studio

This was my first hoop so I had nothing to compare to for reference when I first got it. My first problem is that it isn’t completely welded correctly as it will collect water in it. You can hear it sloshing around when you move it. It was outside the return window when I realized this. Second, it’s pretty thick to hold on to. It wasn’t until I tried my friends name brand hoop that I noticed mine is insanely thick. I went back to look at the picture on the listing and you can see the hoop the woman is on is much thinner than what you will receive, so a bit deceiving. As far as safety goes I never had any issues so that’s why I gave it two stars.
