This collection of letters is truly wonderful. They are gorgeously written and absolutely breathtaking to read. For me, I got a real sense of who Kafka was from this book, in a way I hadn’t before. The letters are both hopeful and heartbreaking to read, which is truly entrancing. This edition, in particular, has a good, informative introduction and also includes sections where Kafka’s meaning is explored and things are explained, which is particularly helpful given that these letters were written in German and Czech, meaning there are both language barriers and cultural barriers. These explanations ensure that you do not miss out on any of the meaning of the letters, which is nice.

I was very excited to get this book but when i opened my package the book was clearly damaged, the front and back cover are bend and so are all the pages. It makes me sad to get a book delivered this way.
