Arrives blunt, but I expected that (it IS a reenactor piece). Very clean, no obvious flaws. Good weight. Arrives oiled, but not dirty. I look forward to putting a handle and an edge on it.

Didn't really have any expectation as to what I was going to get. I just couldn't make them myself for the price. I was a little surprise to see that the weld between the blade and the eye was not fully ground smooth. You can still see a few pits from the weld. Like I said it is fine for my use.

I named her Velma. She makes me so happy, and soon my enemies will fear her.

Used to it to make a dull prop axe for renfaire. Don’t expect masterpiece metal working. Crafting the wooden handle I had to get creative to custom fit it to the asymmetrical interior of the axe head. Did it turn out awesome? Yeah, but that’s because we got creative. So if you don’t have any technical skills by a premade.

Very well made. Ready for a sharp edge and a good hardwood handle. Nice to take part in the making process by adding your own handle and shaping it how you want. Ax head is solid and would highly recommend

I bought this head 3x now and this time the axe was horribly built. The eye is stated as 1" x 1 1/2" It is not, its 1 1/4" ROUND at best so it will not fit the hafts that were made for it. The axe head itself is not even centered on the pipe (eye), it was welded on off to one side by a lot so it is useless as it is for attaching to any haft. The clean up of the axe head where it meets the pipe is like a 12 year old finished it and left a lot of cat eye holes where it was welded. Also noticed that one of the welds has a hairline fracture all the way along the center of the weld. I am a welder so yes I know what I am talking about. only reason for the 1 star is shipping was fast. Very, very unsatisfied with this head, I had expected better since I am a repeat customer.

This axe head is well made, I attached it to an oak handle and so far it seems to be durable. No rust or anything yet too

Where to begin.... the only thing accurate in the ad is the image. The blade is neither properly hardened nor is it tempered as I tested it on arrival which leads me to question if it is a proper high carbon steel which I will test for later. So it is NOT battle ready as advertised and not being hardened or tempered sharpening it is a waste of time as it will not hold it's edge If you want a wall hanger or a piece for cosplay etc then buy it, if you want it functional I hope you have a forge and other equipment to finish it properly
