Kemper Pottery Tool Kit: The Original 8-Piece Pottery Tool Set

The product serves well for the introductory ceramics class I am taking this semester. The various shaping tools are all sturdy and well made. The needle tool allowed very fine details to be made, and the carving tools are sharp and good for shaping. Overall, all the tools function well and were well worth the cost.

Although these tools were designed for pottery I use them for carving pumpkins. They were useful in helping me carve details on to a 3d pumpkin. The tools are sturdy and will hopefully last many halloweens. I Also purchased an x acto knife set which along with these tools is more than sufficient to carve a beautiful pumpkin.

A good quality beginner clay kit. Contains all the basic tools one would need to do wheel work and some beginning handbuilding. Kemper is a well-known brand in clay tools and the tools in this kit are of decent quality and hold up well. Not completely surprisingly, the trimming tools dull fairly quickly; however, for the price, it is a perfect kit for someone just getting stared in clay.

Bought these for a pottery making class based on other reviews. Our teacher was very positive about their quality and felt they were great and probably were all the essential tools one would really need. The rest, he said were just fluff. I've been working with them for this class only but have been very pleased with their sturdiness and comfort. The price point around $15 was also doable for a beginner's investment. I'd recommend them highly.

The best thing about Kemper products are that they use solid wood that will not absorb water when you are constantly getting these tools wet. Cheaper products absorb water and warp and swell, making the tools almost useless when you need fine points, straight lines and reliable angles. I'd recommend Kemper over any other brand for pottery tools. Excellent value!

these are great tools when looking for a useful set. they last for years. my new set was a replacement for one i had for around 8 years.

I got these for a wheel throwing class, one set for me and one for my daughter. We both found these tools useful. I can see why more experienced potters might pay more to have sharper loop tools and smoother wooden (thingys...can't remember what those wooden ones are called), but these were surprisingly effective. I was a bit leery, with the reviews here that say these tools fell apart after brief service, but we will be using ours again for our next class, and they look like they'll be good for several more, at least. In fact, the teacher, a professional potter who sells her work for artist' market prices, was using exactly the same tools as she demo-ed in class, though perhaps she has fancier tools in her studio.

This tool kit is great. There are so many lower quality kits out there and they will not last. Kemper builds quality tools at a reasonable price.

These tools are fine but I don’t believe e they were real Kemper Tools . They didn’t have the Kemper logo on them

The wooden tool splintered the first time I used it. I did a little research and this seemed like a good quality product. It was almost $50 for basic tools. It is hard to return. I’m disappointed, $50 is a lot of money for me.
