BLACK+DECKER Steam Mop, White (HSM13E1)

Just got my B&D steam cleaner. I really like it. It is quiet and makes quick work of cleaning the floors instead of scrubbing with a mop. It works great on my floors especially the wood and flat surfaces. I tried it on the ceramic floor and it definitely helped! The problem now is the grout, the cleaner can’t really reach that. This cleaner is light and easy to use. Yes, the cord is short but the extension cord helped a lot. If you order one, make sure to order extra pads because you go through them quick and it only comes with one.

I purchased this steam mop 5 months ago and it is still one of my favorite purchases. I have used it every week 1-2 times per week and it still works great! My house has wood flooring throughout, two cats and a lot of traction. I can finally relax knowing my floors are clean and sanitized! It heats up very quickly and the cord is long enough to do large sections of floor at a time. I highly recommend this purchase! Especially if you have pets or kids.

You should use distilled water for hardwood floors or it will leave a cloudy appearance. Also order extra pad because they soil quickly. The cord is WAY too short and there is no steam control unless you turn it off and the on/off switch is at an inconvenient location and difficult to maneuver. But it's only $40 so what do you want for that price. It sprays a good stream of steam but don't think the floor is going to be sparkling clean when you are done. It usually leaves more moisture on the floor than you want so you have to wipe afterwords and the towel gets dirty. Overall, I'd buy it again but no steam control at the handle is not versatile.

This mop has the worst design and cheaply made. I do not recommend buying it. Cons: the cord is too short; there is no place on the mop to wind up the cord when you put it away. The cord just flops all over the floor. HOW CHEAP IS IT NOT TO PUT HOOKS ON IT SO THE CORD CAN BE WOUND UP? The mop does not stand on its own. It goes straight to the floor no matter what position you put it in it will not hold an upright position. It lays in the floor. The water compartment does not come off the mop. You have to pick the whole mop up and hold it under the faucet to fill. Or lay it on the floor and get a glass of water to fill. Makes a mess. One more big gripe - THERE ARE NO SETTINGS OTHER THAN ON /OFF AND THOSE BUTTONS ARE WERID. There is no high, med, OR low setting. Lastly the mop pad in the photos was not the one it came with. It had one very thin like disposable one. PROS- NONE. I RETURNED IT .

I bought the Black and Decker steam mop 9 months ago. Initially, I agreed with most of the concerns until I learned the problem usually was me and not the mop. For example, the electric cord to short. Yes, but then I learned to coordinate my mopping with the locations of my outlets. Now cord length is perfect! Even wrapping the electric cord after use turned out OK when I learned to secure the plug end at the top of the handle first, then looping the remaining cord around the hook a couple of times. No more problem. This mop doesn't last. My first mop broke (steamer) with two weeks of use. B & D replaced it. Now, I know to refill the tank before it goes dry. Conclusion: I think the B & D mop is the best value on the market for steam cleaning household floors!

If you're going to buy this steamer, you'll need to be super clear on a few things. First, it's very inexpensive so manage your expectations. Some of the things to be aware of: as other reviewers have said, the cord is ridiculously short, so be prepared to grab an extension cord. The water receptacle is not removable so you have to be able to lay the entire steamer sideways and line up the hole to fill. This also means it's incredibly difficult to empty so, over time, there will no doubt be a mold/mildew problem. There is no indicator light for when it has heated and is ready to go - it does seem to heat up very quickly, though. The entire pad does not contact the floor, only a few ridges do. As long as you take all of those poor design issues into account, if you need a cheap steamer, this one will do. It does heat up and steam comes out (only in one spot) and it can be useful for quick cleanups. It's lightweight and the head swivels easily. If you want a heavy duty cleaner, this is not the choice you want to make.

Heats up quickly and spits out a lot of steam. I bought this because I recently painted my condo and had some paint splatter on the flooring. This did the trick wonderfully. Took all the paint off without much effort. I only paid $35 for this on sale so I have zero complaints - great addition to my household cleaning supplies. For a condo the power cord is more than long enough, seems like that is an issue for buyers, but for the sale price I paid - get an extension cord or just plug it in another socket...

Awful - considering I was replacing a steam mop of the same brand that lasted 7+ years, this has never worked properly in the 6 weeks of me owning it, and is now useless. Initially it produced far too much steam, then when switching off to refill the tank it would not turn on again (for at least 24 hrs). Now it turns on but produces no steam at all. No way to get a refund or replacement either as apparently this was sold under an international amazon with zero information or advertising that it was (I use the UK Amazon app - everything looked as usual).
