Works great and made this one of the best security features of my home.

I have old house which had these odd shaped screws through the window frames. The screw has one flat edge. I had no idea how to get them out of the window so I could open it. It was obvious that there was some device needed, but no hardware stores knew what I was talking about. After talking to an architect friend, he suggested that these were antique sash locks. There is a specialized key like tool to remove them. I found antique “keys” in Europe, but they were a fortune. Then I found this set of key and new locks (bolts and cradles) on Amazon for under $7.00. It arrived in two days, and now I can use my windows.

We got this wood window security device for our windows 20+ years ago. The screw heads and special "key" are the opposite of conventional screws for added security. I couldn't find my "key" anywhere and looked on Amazon and they have it at a reasonable price.

The threading on these screws is tighter than the original screws from my widows, so I am hoping these don't damage the interior threading.

I think this is the most secure device to safe proof your wood window sashes. I have had a predator thief try to get into my house, broke one of the s window panes, reach up to unlock the windo but did not have the key to remove the three inch screw that held both sashes in place

Key used to tighten and loosen screws lost its unique shape after installing 3 of 6 screws in kit. Because screws have unusual head shape this key is essential to install and remove. Key seems to be mad of a soft metal, or perhaps mine was defective. But these are intended to be tightened and loosened numerour times, so this is not at all as advertised. For the price not worth the hassle of a return (especially as 3 screws are already installed and drilling through the window was required), but do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
