I have a solar oven, and while I enjoy using it, it does take a little planning. When cooking with a sun oven, two main things matter: the size of the pot and the material and color of the cookware. This covered roaster checks both of those boxes. The size is spot on it fits in my oven like it was made for it. The dark enamel finish is also ideal. Black enamelware (Graniteware) absorbs sunlight and converts it to heat much better than shiny pans, which tend to reflect light and reduce efficiency. Glass will work, but in my experience it heats up a bit slower. I’ve always liked enamelware in general. It’s lightweight, durable, easy to clean, and holds up well over time. I’ve had this pan for almost two years now with zero issues. Pros: · Perfect size for a solar oven · Excellent heat absorption (black enamel) · Lightweight and easy to clean · Durable Cons: · None so far Bottom line: This has been a great pan and works exactly as expected. I would repurchase and would recommend.

Lovely roaster although I haven’t use it for roasting anything but baking my sourdough! I love it so much because I’ve been trying the open baking method and with fresh milled flour is hard to get a good tall loaf but with this it came out so perfect. The loaf on the pictures is a 50% fresh milled flour (200gr hard red wheat and 50g einkorn) with the other 50% organic AP from Costco. Best loaf ever. This bread weighed 866gr just in case anyone is curious and the recipe was 250 FMF, 250 AP, 10 salt and 350 water I preheated and baked it at 480 x 20min closed and then open at 440F x 15min in the middle rack of my oven

This is a good roaster so far. It became the size I wanted, its smaller than the other one I have that I roast a whole chicken in, I was going to replace it with this, but its not the correct dimension (its 10inches wide, 14 inches long and almost 4 inches deep) but this is great for pot roast and probably chicken thighs. (made pot roast) easy clean up.

Love this item I’m using for sourdough and it was amazing the oven spring I got verses open bake a must buy! Now I’m using it for baking dinners and more! I love it lightweight and made well! I’m going to buy 5 more so I can do 6 loaves of sourdough at once in my oven just the perfect size!

I really wanted the 18 inch roaster but had to settle for the 15 inch as Amazon does not currently ship the 18 inch to my country. True to my estimate, the 15 inch is not large enough for my family of 5, which includes three always ravenous teen boys. I did manage to cram in 2 medium sized chickens (cut up) and 5 cups of raw rice for an oven baked chicken biryani that came out absolutely perfect, except that I actually needed to fit in 7 cups of rice but couldn't. So our meal was heavy on chicken but light on rice and left my family hungry for more. So Amazon, if you're reading this, PLEASE, I really need the 18 incher. I love that the roaster is truly non stick as the manufacturer claims, even without any scary looking non stick coating. Not a single grain of rice stuck on either the base or sides, so no hard scrubbing required at wash up. I love that the chicken was moist and flavourful while the rice grains were beautifully grainy and fluffy yet tender and moist. Really just perfect if you want to make any kind of chicken and rice casserole or all in one dish. I have to test it out with a roast poultry or meat dish next... I don't like that the metal is thin and the pot and lid do not have that reassuring heavy feel of those hefty old school roasters and casseroles. The edges of the lid and pot rims are left bare instead of being rolled in safely and being as thin as the metal is, if you're not careful whilst washing, you could cut yourself on those nasty edges. I also don't know how long this roaster will last, with the metal being so thin. I felt lucky that the roaster arrived without any dents, considering how thin it is and how ridiculously skimpy the padding inside the box was. Of course, if you're paying for international shipping, the lightness of the thin metal may not be such a bad thing ;) All in all though, the roaster performed well, and its friendly price is a big draw. I'm very happy with the performance even if the construction does not fully meet my expectations. Now, if only Amazon would send me that 18 inch beauty *sigh* REVIEW UPDATE, 5 FEBRUARY 2015 : I roasted two medium chickens in the roaster, yes, TWO whole chickens! Just a simple pepper, marjoram and garlic flavoured roast, with the lid on in a preheated 240 C (464 F) oven for the first 20 minutes then turned the oven down to 190 C (374 F) for the remaining 35 minutes of which the last 15 minutes of roasting was with the lid off to get a deeper browning. To summarise, total roasting time was 55 minutes start to finish, last 15 minutes with the lid off. The chickens were perfect! Tender, moist, with the unexpected bonus of the most delicious and effortless gravy at the bottom of the roaster. Amazingly, even without a rack in the roaster, my birds did not stick, so even the skin was perfectly intact, no rips or tears. Yay! I have a feeling I'm going to be using this baby a lot and I'm definitely not going to roast chicken any other way from now on. I'd love to upgrade this to a 5 star review, but those bare, sharp edges around the lid and pot rim just really bug me...

It is hard to imaging size but is so perfect. It is easy to clean. Baking food was easy and meat was so juicy.

I bought this small round roasting pan 10" diameter total (outside), 8.5" cooking size diameter. It cooked a small stuffed chicken, and is great for turkey pieces as well (if you don't need a whole turkey.) It is more suitable for a couple (can cook enough meat for 3 or 4 people) I recommend this for small gatherings, as it cooks the meat very well My meat dinners turned out very tender. I love this roasting pot !!!
