This is a complete period game changer for me!!! I got the saalt small disc and I absolutely LOVE IT so much!!! I have never given birth so I bought a bunch of different size small discs and so far this is the only one I have tried, but I feel like it's already the BEST one!! I stopped wearing tampons a few years ago because on my heavy days I was soaking up super plus tampons every 2 hours on heavy days and I drink so everytime I peed my tampon would fill up with pee then my mini pad would get wet and have to change both everytime!! So I switched just to pads. I was sooo sick of waking up to blood in my underwear every morning with the overnight pads and everytime I went to pee looking down, seeing and smelling blood was getting to be really annoying and gross. I thought this would be really awesome too because no stinky big pads in my trash can anymore!! If I was living with a guy he would probably love me for making the switch!! Lol So I tried this disc and insertion was a bit difficult, but I got it in up behind my pubic bone easily and then couldn't even feel like I was wearing anything all!! It was like I didn't even have my period!!! I was amazed!!! So I went 16 hours by accident my 1st night from 6pm to 8:45am with it in because I didn't know there was a 12 hour time limit and I was sleeping and when I woke up it did start to overflow a tiny bit, but barely. I WAS SO EXCITED that there wasn't a mess I had to clean in my underwear and another pair of underwear ruined due to my period! So I went to empty it and there's a little notch on it that you hook your finger to grab, and then you have to push out to unleash it from behind your pubic bone at the same time. It does get your fingers bloody when removing it because it kinda spills out a little, but who the heck cares when it stayed in for so long without any leaks, no discomfort and no smell or seeing blood everytime I peed!! It was so fantastic that the blood on my fingers didn't bother me since my sink is right next to my toilet I could just wash it off right away!! I don't think I'd ever take it out at work or in a public bathroom due to that. So I cleaned it with soap and water and popped it back in, with again a little maneuvering and awkwardness (you have to sit down to get it in), but I got it! Then I went another 7 hours with it in on my heavy day and again no leaks, no discomfort, couldn't feel or or even tell I had my period other than the usual menstrual cramps!!! I am sooo in love with this product!! I WOULD RECCOMEND IT TO ANY GIRL WHO HAS IS NOT A VIRGIN due to the fact that it would be really hard to show her how to get it in without a plastic model of a vagina and cervix and she may have a hard time getting it in, you have to pinch it together so that you can get it in anyway. Now I'm stuck with a bunch pads I had bought right before buying this and don't think I'll be going back to them!! Lol 😆 this disc is seriously a complete game changer for me!!! I am so THRILLED, I took a chance on it and bought it. I bought 3 of them I loved them so much!! Also I can shower without seeing blood flowing out and can go swimming now with my neice and can go over her house or to my parents shore house overnight without having to worry about throwing out a tampon or pad in someone else's trash!! It is so perfect for me!! Sooo GO GREEN and try it for your yourself!!! You'll be soo glad you made the switch!! Some people on these reviews say it was hard getting out, it did make me panic a little my first time trying, but it's so easy now as long as you push out and pull with your finger at the same time!! I do not know anything about having sex with it in because I am not in a relationship with someone, but I do know you have to empty it before sex so that the blood doesn't auto dump out when it's full!! And if you do have sex with it in you can not try to force yourself to have an orgasm because when you try to force it you might push it out and it will probably get messy!! I hope this review helps someone to make their period game forever changed!! Especially if your someone like me who absolutely dreads her period every month!!

Every gal I know who uses menstrual cups loves them. After hearing about it for the umpteenth time, I decided it was time to order one of my own. Saalt comes nicely packaged, with instructions for use and sterilization and a little bag to keep it in. Insertion wasn't horribly difficult. It took a few twists to get it to open, and I leaked a small amount the first hour, but then it was all good. I have very heavy periods, and I had it in for eight hours with no leaks! Color me impressed! After the 8 hours, I get home and go to remove it. It's up there. WAY up there, I can barely feel it. The instructions say not to pull the tab, so I set about trying to pinch the damn cup to get it to un-suction and release. After about ten desperate minutes I'm able to twist it out - no mess, full cup - I dumped, cleaned and replaced. Not so bad, I think, I can do this! I go to a work event, and come back two hours later and try to remove it again. I thought it was up there before, but now it's almost gone. The Saalt cup is latched to my cervix like a starved leech. Try as I might, I cannot get it to come out. I can BARELY reach the cup with my fingers. I pull on the string, no bueno. At this point I'm starting to worry I'll have to go to the ER for the humiliating task of removal. So I call my fiance upstairs and tell him I have a very unfortunate task I need his assistance with. Now we're BOTH trying our damnedest to remove this thing. No luck. He's close to tears. I'm close to tears. The dog is standing nervously in the doorway, unsure how to help. Finally, in a fit of part rage, part distress, I grab the tab and I pull as hard as I can. It feels like it's pulling my entire uterus with it. Right as I'm about to give up hope - POP - it un-suctions and flies out, dropping what can only be described as a bomb of blood all over my bathtub. My fiance almost fell in his hasty retreat from the bathroom. It's been four days, and he still won't look me in the eye. It does what it's supposed to, but at what cost? I'll be experimenting next with the ones that have a hoop for "easy removal." TL;DR - you won't leak for hours, but you'll need the strength of the Hulk or digits like Salad Fingers to remove it. It's also worth mentioning I felt like it, for lack of a better word, "clogged" me up after it got full - maybe my fault for not dumping it throughout the day. EDIT: after a year of use and experimenting with other cups (frankly, this is the only one that does not regularly have leakage), I'm adding the final star. As many others have said, using this cup takes practice. Insertion and removal are both fairly easy (I do sometimes have to fish around, but nothing like before). If you're looking at other cups, just take it from me... this is the best you're gonna get.

Talk about an absolute game changer. Wow, and I truly mean wow. Saalt, thank you. I bought the two pack of the regular and small cup. Given my flow is as heavy as it is I was really uncertain as to whether this was going to be my finally switching out from using tampons. I couldn't do it anymore due to the internal physical pain that the cotton fabric was causing me since I was in need of ultra tampons for the majority of my cycle. With that in mind, I was going through an ultra tampon every two-four hours depending on how much my uterus hated me that particular month. I had originally considered going with a different brand with a larger cup size for that reason. Turns out it wasn't even necessary. I've been using the large cup for twenty-four hours now and I haven't had a single issue that any of the negative reviews state. In fact, all I have to say is positive. For starters, I can go for up to about six hours before I feel like I have to empty the cup. It definitely takes some getting used to as far as insertion and removal, but once you get the hang of it, you're golden! I played cards against humanity last night with my nephew and laughed so hard I felt the cup flex a lot like it was breathing and thought I might blow it right out (which had me laughing harder and no, I didn't share that with him lol), but it stayed in place and worked perfectly. Last night was my first night using the cup and while, yes, I should have probably emptied prior to going to bed I didn't and had zero issues. We're talking TEN hours with a flow that typically uses ultra absorbency tampons (granted I was stationary), and no leaks at all. I'm totally in awe of what this product has done for me. I haven't used the small cup yet, but as for the regular you know it's there. It isn't like you insert and forget which is a good thing. Since TSS is an issue you WANT to know it's there. At first, I noticed that I felt like I needed to urinate after it was in, but after a few hours of wear that feeling stopped. The sensation takes a little bit to get used to, but it doesn't have that abrasive friction and constant irritation that I was getting from tampons. Nobody needs that. Why do we still make them? If you're having trouble with insertion and removal there's plenty of helpful videos on YouTube and QandA's on Google. If you're new to the cup or considering, this is worth the investment. I'm twenty-four hours in and refuse to go back to tampons. Saalt makes a wonderful product and I'll be singing their praises to whomever is willing to listen. Do yourself a favor and get it. It's worth the investment and money you'll save as well as cutting back on unnecessary pain associated with tampon use. Update: I switched to the small cup later on in the evening of day two. It was harder to insert the cup and as it turns out, I wasn't bleeding as heavy (keep this in mind for later). Easier time overall using the small cup and also didn't have leaking issues. Emptied each time I went to the bathroom so say... Every four to six hours or so. I was about 60 hours or so into my cycle or about two and a half days when I noticed there wasn't really anything to empty. I figured hey, probably due to gravity and the fact that I had been lying down using a heating pad (again, back problems *cough, cough, old*) and nothing really moved down that way. I even wiped and noticed nothing. Ok, weird. It happens. Roughly another six or more hours later and I use the bathroom again (it's hot as hell, I'm drinking a lot of water, don't judge me) and I reach in, break the suction and go to empty... Nothing. There's nothing at all to empty. Confused now, and assuming what I was hoping to be true had just happened, I went on the internet and discovered a few blerbs on Google and then came across an entire article by Vice. There's an entire website dedicated to cups called Put A Cup In It. I'm stating these things because there's a physical effect to using a cup. Not only did I just have the least painful period of my life, but I also just had the shortest. I just had a period that lasted about two and a half days. This happens to 53% of women that switch to using the cup. It's a completely understudied phenomenon and it's a shame it isn't more widely known for all of woman kind. It takes getting used to, but it's so worth it. If I had known I'd be in less pain every month and bleed for WAY fewer days I would have switch such a long time ago. Make the switch and liberate yourself.

Okay I have been using this for almost a full week now and I have some thoughts- First, I like it! It gives me a secure almost freeing feeling. Like I could not wear a panty liner and I’d be fine (probably) and I don’t need to empty it every single time I use the bathroom like I would a pad or tampon. I love that. I can just stick it up there and forgot about it until I get home. I recently started getting a sensitivity to regular pads/tampons and i wanted to find something that would help that. This 100% solved that problem for me! Plus with this I don’t need to buy products every month which is great! I do love this, but I have a super heavy flow 2-3 days out of my regular 8. So for the days that aren’t my heavy days this was perfect, but for my heavy days it didn’t quite cut it. I had to empty every few hours which wouldn’t be a big deal except for this thing is MESSY! And it will get all over your hand or at least a finger or two so it’s a bit difficult to do this at work when the only bathroom is public with multiple stalls. Also side note- I have not figured out this whole auto empty thing so that might change things but I’m convinced that’s not real- what I’ve been doing is just sticking a single finger over the rim to let some out and then give a little push to empty as much as I can without taking it out. I’m hesitant to try the larger size, but to be honest it’s just because I just bought this product and I can’t justify spending money on the other one immediately after but I’m sure it would work great. I did leak once or twice on my heavy days but luckily I was wearing a liner and it wasn’t too bad. Insertion was wayyy easier than I thought it would be. The was pretty nervous since this was my first disc but it wasnt a problem. I just followed the directions that were in the box exactly and it was great! I recommend reading the instructions and maybe doing some additional research/getting familiar with your anatomy if you aren’t already. For me the firmness and soft silicone work great. No pain while inserting even if it unfolds to early. It’s not too firm or anything. I also can’t feel it while it’s in, it’s almost too comfortable I’m worried I’ll forget about it lol. Luckily that hasn’t happened but that does bring me to the worst part of this product- removing it… This thing sits up really high so you have to dig. I also had long nails at the beginning of the week and it just happened to work out that that came off halfway through and it was way easier to remove without nails but still hard. It has a notch to grab onto and pull but it does NOT work. It’s too slippery and it turns once it’s inside you so it doesn’t matter anyways because you can’t reach or find it. I have just been finding the rim and grabbing that to pull it out and it has been working for me. This was is quite messy but as long as I’m in my own bathroom it’s really not too bad. There have been a few times where I’m digging for it for a while but I learned that if you push a few times and sometimes at the same time it will push it down so it’s easier to grip. I was pretty worried about this based on other reviews but it really wasn’t too bad. For me, for now, the positives out weight the negatives and if you think this is something you’d like, I think you should give it a try! A few additional details for anyone- I do have an IUD so I was looking for something without suction- this will suction a little but not enough to bother my IUD and by grabbing the rim it breaks any suction anyways. I have checked my strings since I was worried and they are just fine and in the same place they were before. Lastly I did have sex while wearing this and my husband said he couldn’t feel it at all. It was totally clean, no leaking during or after. However, it was the hardest to remove after that since it was pushed so far up, but still reachable.

I genuinely love this product. I’ve been using it for about a cycle. Thought within the first 12 hours I immediately knew I’m obsessed with it, and will fully be switching over to a disc. So if you are someone who has been contemplating the switch I highly recommend trying a disc, even another brand if those seem more appealing. I’ve been a long time tampon user. Ever since I started my cycle I’ve been using tampons, even during sleeping. I am not a big fan of free bleeding while wearing a pad so I’ve always used tampons. This is my first time ever using a reusable menstrual product, as I’ve never used a cup or disc prior. I’ve been interested in a cup or disc for awhile but kinda unsure about switching. I’ve been hesitant due to some of the negative comments, I’ve heard about insertion and removal. I have always used organic tampons, pads, as a personal choice. But since all the chemicals and other products in tampons have been coming out more and more, I’ve been uneasy about tampons. So I finally decided to switch, due to price, affordability, environment, leaking/spotting, irritation while removing especially on low flow days, etc. Also, as a college student, worrying about needing to change my tampon during lectures, commuting, leaking, overall availability to change tampons. Also the like embarrassment or like idea of people seeing u leave class with a tampon or wallway, or taking a long time in a stall during a bathroom rush, or feeling unclean or uncomfortable due to my tampon. The idea of having 12 hours to change your disc is a game changer. I do change it more frequently when at home, but on the go it’s so helpful and I’ve honestly been forgetting about my period all together. I would highly recommend this product. I know these products seem intimidating but my overall experience has been so good, I feel even too good. I’ve read reviews prior to purchasing and so many said they experienced difficulties during insertion and removal so I was expecting the same. Though first time inserting, so was smooth, I in the shower as I felt most relaxed and comfortable. It was way easier than expected, like surprisingly too easy. I thought I honestly did something wrong, just because it was so easy. I know most people experience issues and spotting especially when starting this product but I so far haven’t. Also during removal, I expected some challenges and maybe a long time to remove it. But honestly it was super quick, but just getting the disc free and out of position so it easier to pull out. It’s just gonna take some getting used too, but it honestly took maybe 10 seconds to remove it. I was in the shower for both processes. So, I would honestly recommend this product or similar. To start off, I have never used a disc before this one and I purchased the saalt regular sized disc as I have a really high cervix. I took two quizzes online prior to settling on this disc. I took the put a cup in it quiz and the period nirvana quiz. The put a cup in it quiz is the one that recommended me to use this disc. I didn’t listen to the other quiz because it seemed biased and I wanted to try this one because of the soft silicone which I found less intimidating. Also the basin of this seemed the softest. (And it is, it’s so comfortable) I was very intimidated by discs because they sit in an entirely different location than menstrual cups do. However, I was drawn to this because of how much more discs hold than cups do. I have previous experience with cups. Let me tell you, this disc changed my life. The first time I tried placing it, it went horribly and it felt weird and uncomfy. I remember it pressing on my bladder. I immediately took it off and tried again. I changed my approach to guide it further in than I originally did and it worked. I just feel around to make sure it’s properly tucked in behind my pubic bone and that it’s around my whole cervix. I have a very VERY heavy flow on the first 3 days of my period and this handled it like a pro. I slept comfortably at night, I changed it every 5 hours during the day. On day 4-6 I literally only change it every 12 hours because it doesn’t get full. Autodumping and leaks: This disc was a perfect fit for me so I had zero issues with leaks. I only leaked a bit once but it was because I placed the disc in wrong (you need to place it deeper than you think). It does auto dump once it’s full but ONLY when you use the restroom. There was no autodumping during sneezes/ coughs/ laughing. And it shouldn’t leak during regular movement unless it’s a wrong fit or placement. When it auto dumps I never have to place it back or anything either, it remains in place. Tmi but you can also just do a kegel after it auto dumps once you stand and you’re good. You don’t have to go around feeling it to put it back after using the bathroom. I heard people say to do this but it wasn’t needed for me, just do a kegel. I have strong pelvic muscles and it works for me. Placement and removal: Placement was very easy, I have placed it standing up in the shower with a leg up and sitting down on the toilet. Both work but sitting down on the toilet was the easiest. Removal was easy, I only struggled once because I have an extremely high cervix. Removal can be difficult if you aren’t used to using your pelvic muscles or accustomed to your body’s anatomy. You simply bear down with your pelvic muscles and reach for the rim and slowly wiggle it out. I remove it over the toilet and slowly wiggle it out to avoid causing a mess. I haven’t caused a single spill or mess while removing as a first time user. It’s painless and I use extra small tampons for reference because I literally cannot use bigger tampons they always hurt. Because of the soft silicone material this never causes friction and it feels very comfortable to insert and remove. My overall user experience: I use this disc with period underwear just in case it ever leaks or the leftover after it autodumps from using the bathroom. And there is absolutely no need. The disc handles everything for me and I’ve started to wear just normal underwear when I have the disc because of how much trust I have in it. (No pantiliner, nothing!) And the best part is I don’t have to use pads or tampons anymore! This is amazing but I suggest doing your research to have less of a learning curve. I researched everything about discs and how to use them and I recommend getting comfortable with your personal anatomy because it will make this ten times easier.

It's ok but it's not for me. I got the disc to see if maybe discs were better for me than cups, and i was hoping with that notch that it would be a cleaner easier removal than a cup. Insertion was okay but kind of painful due to the hard ridge always trying to spread everything apart like a speculum. As a result it would create these pockets of air in the canal that would try to escape every time I was adjusting from sitting to standing which made things further uncomfortable. It felt difficult to empty my bladder with the disk inside, like it was jamming against my urinary canal, that or it made me feel like i had to go when maybe i didn't have too (i did not have the same issue with the cup). Despite it always feeling like it was going to fall out, it also felt so wedged up there that it would be impossible to remove. Perhaps the hard ridge pushing and adjusting against my anatomy gives it this everpresent uncomfortable feeling. Despite the hook in the disc, which I was hoping would work like the example where you just hook your finger and pull it out, it was incredibly difficult to find or get any grip with a single finger to pull it. I had to use my middle finger all the way just to touch the rim which was trapped up and over the pubic bone where i couldn't reach, so I couldn't latch it, it just kept getting pushed further out of reach, so i had to instead to try and pinch it from the bottom pouch like you would a menstrual cup just to get any kind of purchase to try and shimmy it into a position i could grab it. Despite it being a disc it still felt like it made a strong suction that made removal daunting and painful (the suction part is what made me frustrated with cups due difficult removal regardless of the pinching technique, i just couldn't get the suction to break without digging my fingers deep enough to try and collapse the cup at the top. At least the silicone was soft enough I could force a grip on it). After removal my anatomy just felt worn and pained. The headaches I was having for the short duration of using it subsided. It did collect blood in the end, with minimal to no leakage, so it did its job, but the ordeal and anxiety of dealing with removal and having to shove half my hand up there just to try to pry it out just felt nothing like the simple insertion and removal videos they show. I had better experiences with their cup at least, probably because it was super soft, did not have a hard outer ridge, and sat low enough i could grab at it. But for both i can't see being able to use or remove without going into a full deep squat and bear down which would make having to remove it in a public setting an impossible nightmare. Neither one of the options provides a 'clean' way of removal, your fingers have to get well up in there down to the knuckle for either option so your fingers will be soiled and there's no way you could do this if you had long nails. So neither one is perfectly ideal. I atleast appreciate the beautiful hardcased packaging and the fact that the items came well in tact and in place despite the canisters being delivered in a paper amazon package that was tossed on the porch. It gave great first impressions of quality and brand confidence for someone new and intimidated by internal menstrual products.

I really like this menstrual disc! I’ll be honest: learning how to use it was not easy for me at first. I struggled with insertion and thought I might be doing something wrong, especially because the disc would sometimes move and I would notice some leaking. Eventually, I figured out what I was doing wrong: I wasn’t inserting it far enough back. Once I learned to follow the natural angle of my vaginal canal and insert it farther back before positioning the front rim behind the pubic bone, everything made so much more sense. After that, it became much easier to insert and use. I also love that I don’t have to deal with uncomfortable pads or constantly buy and change tampons. Being able to wear the disc for hours without having to think about it is such a game changer, especially since tampons can get expensive when you have to use several throughout your period. I’m really glad I gave it a chance instead of giving up when I was struggling with it. There is definitely a learning curve, but once you figure out what works for your body, it’s so worth it. I would absolutely recommend giving it some time and practice! ❤️

This menstrual cup is a revolutionary period product, 100x better than tampons. I didn't think a period could be so forgetable and easy. I used to go through 6+ tampons in a day, which takes time and thoughtful scheduling if you are out of the house. You only need to change the cup in the morning and night. That's it! The learning curve was much easier than I imagined. After 3 changes, I had it down. My only regret is that I didn't switch over sooner. The time and money I could have saved and convenience I could have gained. The most amazing part is that you don't need to worry about running out of supplies or frantically running to the store if you forgot your time of the month was coming. From the first time I had a period (13) I promised myself that I would never let a period get in the way of anything I wanted to do. This cup supports my period life mantra.

Uso le coppette saalt normali da qualche anno, sono facili da usare e si aprono facilmente, ma nell'ultimo periodo mi causavano la cistite a causa della durezza. Ho deciso di provare le soft e tutto si é risolto! Si apre facilmente anche se è più morbida! Consiglio a tutte. Mai più senza.

I love these salt cups, only I’ve purchased the set three times already and the smaller size always tears when I am pulling out after 3-6 months of having it. I am gentle of course however I haven’t had this issue with any other cup. I’ve moved on to a more durable one which works although I wish I could keep using the Saalt ones due to softness, shape and aesthetic. If they improved the end I would recommend to everyone.

C’est la première fois que je me mets des cup, j’ai toujours utilisé des tampons super+ (oranges) et ils étaient pleins au bout de deux heures voire moins les deux premiers jours. En essayant la première fois j’ai cru que c’était pas fait pour moi, que j’allais pas savoir si c’était bien mis. Mais je vous rassure, maintenant j’arrive à utiliser les deux cup, ça m’a pris 3-4 essais au début avant de savoir comment la mettre mais mon conseil c’est de la plier en rabattant un côté vers l’intérieur pour former comme un coquillage, et une fois à l’intérieur, faites la pivoter jusqu’à sentir un “blop” qui signifie que votre cup s’est dépliée et est en place. Si ça se déplie pas c’est que vous l’avez pas assez mise haute donc un conseil commencez par faire pivoter assez bas, dès votre “entrée”, en faisant pivoter vers le haut jusqu’à ce que la cup se déplie avec le fameux blop. Vous pouvez vérifier qu’elle est n’est pas pliée en faisant le tour avec le doigt. Pour ma part la petite cup est entièrement remplie en 2-3h les deux premiers jours avec un flux abondant, mais la grise plus grosse me tient plus longtemps. Mes règles durent moins longtemps aussi qu’avec des tampons et j’ai 0 fuites donc c’est un win win. J’espère avoir aidé des personnes qui hésitent encore à sauter le pas. Nu baal ik ervan dat ik hem niet jaren geleden had gekocht. Het kost even wat maar dan hebje ook wat. Ik wil niet anders meer, minder gedoe en makkelijk schoon te maken. Mijn buikkrampen zijn niet meer zo heftig, je vergeet bijna dat je menstrueert tijdens het gebruik van de menstruatiecup.
