Reminds me of Holland and the time of Saint Nicolaas's birthday on the 5th December
A typical Dutch cookie that's baked and eaten when the moon is full in December and all children await St Nicolaas and his black Peter's to ride through the sky on his pure white Spanish horse and gets a black Peter to climb down the Chimney piece to deliver sweets or a small gift in the shoes waiting there and to take the hay and carrots back up for the horse! This happens every night from the end of November that children who have been good receive a little gift in their waiting shoe up to the 5th of December. Then as the family are all gathered, there's a loud knocking on the front door and on opening it there's large basket filled with gifts that are large, like a bicycle if the child's been good all year. Lots more interesting cultural things that happen in Holland and in the Flemish part of Belgium.
