Good but...
I became a fan of hockey and the Red Wings in 1997 as a young kid and knew a little about the rivalry between the two teams. This book explains every little details of why it started and how it ended. It's a great read and will definitely get your hockey juices flowing however I think it's probably got more information about Colorado Avalanche. The writer wrote about the Avalanche for years so it's understandable. There are good chapters in the Wings but I found myself thinking there was a lot of information about Colorado. All in all, a great read for fans of either teams. I read it in two days a s I couldn't put it down!

Personally, from my reading experience, journalists make the most entertaining book writers. Blood Feud by sports journalist Adrian Dater is a splendid example of such. The work is a thrilling read about the heated rivalry between the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche, two NHL Western Conference powerhouses, during the late 1990s and early 2000s who have competed against one another in a whole list of playoff series during that time period. Both sides boasted various legends of the game. The Avalanche had Peter Forsberg, Patrick Roy, Claude Lemieux, and Joe Sakic while the Red Wings had the likes of Steve Yzerman, Brendan Shanahan, Chris Osgood, and legendary coach Scotty Bowman. Lots of epic games, series, and incidents between both sides occurred and this is described in a very balanced and impartial way by Adrian Dater. To conclude, an exciting read about one of the greatest rivalries in NHL history.
