Easy to use. Easy to read. Seems to give a accurate temperature reading. I have had mine for many years and still works great.

Works good

I’ll start by saying that this unit literally saved us and our little one a lot of pain and torture. We went from having to wake up a sick baby, just to check his temperature, to 50 scans an hour without him event noticing. The unit works great IF you understand the working principle of laser thermometers - and that is that it sends a laser beam out, and reads back the change in the beam caused by the surface it hits (your baby’s forehead) OR the medium in which it travels (air). That being said, you will not get accurate results if the baby’s forehead is sweaty, or for example if there’s a flow of cooler air between the thermometer and baby’s forehead. One more important aspect is to always measure the temperature exactly in the center of the forehead, as by moving to the sides towards the temples you’ll hit a more heavily vascularized area that always shows a higher temperature. (Test this on yourself) That being said, if you understand how it works and can take the time to test it on yourself initially and comprehend how various factors may affect the reading you might have an amazing aid for a very reasonable price. If you don’t understand the working principle and can’t get consistent results on yourself you’re better off relying on a contact thermometer for accurate reading.
