Sticky
Nice and sticky, I use it on a blue or black balls hanging from trees, catches deer fly and some other gnats and flys. Easy to apply if you use cheap paint brush

This works!
This stuff works! This is our second year using it on our fruit trees. Keeps the ants and other crawling/flying critters out effectively. It seems a little pricey, but we have found nothing comparable. Sorry manufacturer, but user tip, donโt bother paying for the applicator. Just use a plastic spoon or something else you can throw away because there is no way to clean it off. Itโs a one use. Yes itโs messy but kind of fun.

Effective and very sticky!
Effective against earwigs, beetles, lantern flies, and other creepy crawlies trying to get up our fruit trees. It also remains effective even after getting wet.

Works well if you have a good lure to use it with
Got this to work with inspect lure and mixed results. The sticky substance did a great job if something landed on it, but the lure didn't do great, so not as much opportunity to use it as expected. Easy to install but it's a mess if you get it on anything unintentionally.

Great substitute for Tanglefoot! I Promise!
Since Tanglefoot in the tub was discontinued, it seemed there was no suitable substitute out there. I took a chance with this product and I'm pleased to say that it worked just as well if not better! It does seem to be thicker, making the application process just a bit harder, but it stays put. It is extremely sticky, it does not run in the heat and there is no odor. I apply blue painters tape to a ball cap and spread the product thinly over the surface with a popsicle stick to snag those annoying, biting deer flies that are so numerous this time of the year. The picture shows the flies that were caught after just five minutes! Kudos to Catchmaster for making an equivalent, if not superior product.

Not effective for adult spotted lantern flies--They laugh at it
I first tried the Catchmaster Tree Shield Insect Barrier glue TAPE. Over a few weeks, with about 30 traps, I caught thousands of of small, immature spotted lantern flies. But the adult lantern flies walk up to the tape, feel it a bit with the long feet, and then walk away without getting stuck. So I figured the gloppy tree banding glue, also made by Catchmaster, would do the trick. I was wrong. This very messy glue caught very few adult lantern flies. (Just a few of the dumber ones.) As with the tape, the spotted guys would touch the glue a bit and then go down the tree away from the glue. A few even walked all the way onto the glue and still managed to walk away. This messy stuff that will stick to anything else, including your fingers, does not stick to lantern fly feet all that well. Also, in the 90ยฐ heat weโve been having, large globs of the glue dripped off the plastic wrap and onto the tree. I suspect the glue may not be good for the tree. I'm not impressed with these Catchmaster products. Effective for small lantern flies only.
