Bonvoisin Lab Scale 5000gx0.01g High Precision Electronic Analytical Balance 0.01g Accuracy Laboratory Precision Digital Scientific Scale (5000g)

I could have sworn I already reviewed the Bonvoisin Lab Scale 5000gx0.01g High Precision Electronic Analytical Balance 0.01g Accuracy? Anyway, it is Fantastic, almost unbelievable. It is incredibly sensitive and has a huge capacity. I am using it in the kitchen for precise measurements of food calories and nutrients. You can put an entire heavy cast iron skillet on the Bonvoisin, tare (zero) the scale with one button push, and then add your food and it will read out the amount of food to ±0.01 grams. When making a salad, I place the bowl on the scale, tare it, add lettuce and record the value, tare, add tomato, record, tare, add broccoli, etc. I later enter all values into a custom Excel spreadsheet and determine my exact calories, fat, carbs, protein, and other nutrients for the day. It was very revealing as I found most of my calories were coming from the Olive Oil dressing and the Red Wine I was drinking with the meal. I cut back on Olive Oil and reduced number of glasses of wine. This is a great, convenient scale with high capacity and high precision.

I love these things, great for measuring everything from my cat to rolls of filament after drying to see how many milligrams of moisture has been removed, to anything else in my lab that does not require milligram accuracy. They are sold under probably a half dozen different gibberish-name Chinese vendors but they all come from the same factory. They have a hidden menu that allows you to change settings that are explained nowhere in the manual - if you are the curious type of person who likes exploring into digital systems you should be careful as I changed it from a 5 kg max/0.01 g resolution scale to a 100g max / 0.001 g setting. Of course the load cell did not cooperate and there are about a hundred different options to choose from which are anything but clearly described in the menu. Long story short it took me a couple hours to get it set back correctly but I really wish the manufacturer would not give instructions on how to access a menu and then only explain a couple of the functions! (Not that I wouldn't have found the menu on my own, but still...) Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and have ordered three of them for different locations.

Bought the 1kg of the scale for my research lab, and loved it so much that I got the 5kg for my home! 5kg scale came slightly out of spec (a 500g calibration weight came in around 500.24g) so I emailed customer service and they sent a new 2kg weight for calibration! Scale works great now (within 0.01g for every calibration weight I tested). Very happy with the service and the scale!

Overall this seems like a nice quality, affordable scale with apparently good precision. I would buy it again ...probably. The reason I can't give five stars is because the "percentage" unit function is very NON-intuitive and isn't covered in the manual at all. This was particularly important for me because I bought this scale to accurately mix epoxy and also body filler for a car project and I was excited about using the percentage function extensively, in particular. Anyhow, after about two hours of trial and error I figured out the 'secret handshake' to make that function work. Here it is: 1) Click "units" to find the one with "g" AND "%." (not just "%".) 2) Press "cal" once, briefly. It won't beep or blink or do anything satisfying. 3) Place the first item on the scale. It'll read a weight. Leave the item on the scale. NOTE: DO NOT PRESS "tare" ON THIS SCREEN. 4) Press "units" a bunch of times until it gets to just "%" (no "g".) It'll say 100 meaning 100% of the item still on the tray. 5) Press "tare" now, only on this screen, only after the preceding steps. Add your second item. the number shown will be the percent of the new item compared to the first item. For body filler, I do step 1 and 2 and then plop a blob of filler on the (protected) tray then do steps 4 and 5 and add catalyst until I hit 2% which is the target for that particular body filler. Easy as that(!?!?) It's NOT intuitive but it works beautifully and gives very consistent mixes. Hope this helps someone. :-)

I think it’s very well-made

This is an excellent scale. The response time of all the functions are very quick and the scale itself is easy to keep clean. I originally purchased this scale for the % function, to use in bread recipes expressed in terms of Baker's Percentage of the ingredients. Based on a calibration weight set for scales, I am very happy with the accuracy of the scale. The performance of this scale is equal to those used in commercial clinical laboratories. The Customer Service of the seller is Excellent !! I couldn't quite figure out how to use the % function, so I sent the seller a message asking how to use it. I quickly got a response back with detailed instructions. I also got a follow up email asking if the % function was working as expected and if I had any additional questions !! Overall, I am very impressed with both the Customer Service of the seller and of the scale itself. I am very Happy with this purchase.

Me acaba de llegar..... lo justo seria hacer una reseña pasado un tiempo de uso pero me ha gustado tanto que me apetece decir lo precisa que es , la utilizo para pesar la comida y suplementos ya que entreno y soy nutricionista , espero que siga siendo perfecta en el tiempo.

5000gのはかりを講入し、2000gの分銅で校正後、10mg～1000gの分銅を使用して表示される数字を確認したところ、50mg～1000gの分銅で非常に正確な数値を叩き出しました。びっくりです。なお、10mg、20mg、そして20mg×2の板状分銅を載せた時は「0.00g」と表示されましたが、5000gのはかりで50mg未満の重さのものを量ること自体がナンセンスですね。ちなみに、10gと10mgの分銅を載せた時はちゃんと「10.01g」と表示されました。 また、説明書には、校正用分銅(2000g)が重すぎるため、輸送中にはかりに損傷を与える可能性があり、校正用分銅が付属されていないと記載されていますが、別送で校正用分銅をできるだけ格安で提供していただけるサービスを選択できるようにしていただきたいと要望したところ、即日、社内調整をされて、ほぼ1週間でM1等級の2000g校正分銅がアマゾンで販売開始されました。素晴らしい企業風土だと感じました。
