Replacement Velvet Ear Pads for DT770 DT880 DT990 DT 770 Pro DT 880 Pro DT 990 Pro Silver

These earpads are very good, but they are not sustainable. Unfortunately, they tend to get pretty greasy and dirty after a while, and you can't really clean them up too many times without ruining them. It feels like this material isn't adequate for resisting skin contact for many hours, and therefore you will need to replace them often if you plan to use your headphones daily.

I have had my DT770 pro for years and they had the leatherette cushions. I got these as my current ones got old and brittle. I have replaced with these and you have to invert the little hoop and then unfold it around the headphone which is the easiest way to install. It's difficult but so are the OEM ones. To be honest I did not find the audio change too much. Yes it did not sound the same but still great! When you put them on though, Oooh man it's like having two soft pillows or puppies on your ears. They are so soft and comfortable. I can see how for some it might be too hot but the comfort is amazing! Love these replacement ear pads!

Several people have mentioned some loss of treble with these pads. I have also noticed that when I replace old pads with new Berydynamic pads. I believe that comes from a change in surface hardness between old, stiff, dried up pads and new more supple ones, rather than from some inherent defect in these pads. I've been using this latest set around 8 hours a day for 3 months. There are no rips, tears, bald spots, smoothed out areas, or any visible degradation at all. They look and feel like new. Adhered bits of pizza debris come off easily with a little fingernail work. The feel is slightly different than the Berydynamic pads, but very comfortable and I really have no preference for one or the other. I was able to comfortably wear them for several hours on my first use. They were easy to install with just the right amount of stretch to stay tightly in place, no installation struggling was required. I can't really say if the treble issue has changed in that time, but having gotten used to them I now like the sound very much and have no issues with using them both for everyday listening and critical mixing.
