Bigger than appreciated but not a deal breaker
I usually carry a knife for self defense and a box cutter for opening packages. Lately I decided to switch to pepper spray for self defense, and to use my box cutter as my primary knife. I also now carry a Leatherman Wave+ if I need a bigger knife, and in my bag, I have a Cold Steel tanto. Anyway this thing isn't exactly huge but it is way bigger than my old Workpro folder. This is undesired but it is not a deal breaker. I do think a thicker knife is safer and more comfortable to use. It still fits in my 5th pocket but it sticks up. My next complaint is there is no pocket clip. I mean really WTF. It is also somewhat gritty when I slide it. I tried to oil it, but it had a minimal effect. Pros: It's sturdy, full metal tang, the pry bar is a function I actually use often to open stuck jar lids, paint cans, etc. I love that it has a nail puller and I believe it would pull a nail. The reason I wanted this over the work pro is it's one hand opening. I wish it was assisted but the slider ain't bad. I also could not fund any other small, single handed one hand opening utility knives that were not made by a walmart exclusive brand. Anyway it works, it's sturdy, it's well made, I think it will last many moons if used responsibly. I have seen photos of some broken ones. I think it may have occurred from using it fully extended or from using it too roughly. If I need to do something serious I have a big utility knife for hard work. My preferred choice of blade is the Rapid edge serrated. Not ideal for slicing but does a bang up job of cutting through cardboard.

Still Pleased a Month In
I've used this as a daily box cutter and quick prybar at work for about a month now. Tools are something that are very personal, and there's a lot I like about this, but like anything else there's drawbacks as well. The good: I use this as my primary box cutter. I had been using a Stanley 99E and I do not have large hands. The Gerber Prybrid has a much more textured grip and fits into my hand almost perfectly. The Gerber is very solid, and there is no wiggling or rattling compared to my old cutter. When I deploy the blade and hear it click into place, I know it's secure. During the course of my workday I often have to pop out nails or quickly pop a bracket. Having this in my pocket has saved me a few trips to the work van. For minor annoyance jobs, this thing is great. Like some utility knives, it has a cutout that exposes part of the razor while the blade it retracted for cutting straps or cord. It is a larger notch than on my coworker's Stanley Instant-Change. What's not so great about it: the bottle opener idea is, in execution, not large enough to easily remove a bottle cap. I did nick myself with it. The blade does have three options- stored, deployed, and extended to swap in a new razor. I personally prefer this- my old Stanley did slip and retract, more my own fault than anything. Changing the blade was initially difficult but much easier once I consulted a how-to video about it. The pry bar does work, and has been helpful. As far as using it as a flathead screwdriver though, I think that's a stretch. I did try it out if curiosity and quickly gave up to get a standard screwdriver. There is no place to house extra razor blades, which to me wasn't particularly important, as there's a package of them either in my work van or in my tool chest at home. Overall I am very happy with this. As a sturdy box cutter and sometimes pry bar, it functions well, saves me steps, and is comfortable both in my hands and my pockets. However, I will warn you that it may be uncomfortable if you have larger hands. If Gerber dropped the bottle-opener idea and instead widened the prybar, this little tool would improve. As it is, it's fairly inexpensive, very portable, convenient, and is something I happily use everyday.

Compact & Practical
Fantastic size and build quality. Fits right in the “watch/lighter pocket” without knowing it’s there. Practical design with multiple functions makes this the ideal tool to have on you at all times. Blade change is convenient, never have to worry about sharpening, simply replace. Perfect for everyday use, overall great product, if at the right price. Would buy again!

This thing is a BEAST!
I've never been much of a Gerber fan, but they got it right on this one. I would change a couple things though, like the "cord cutter notch". If it were a little wider, it would make a fantastic box zipper! You wouldn't even have to retract the blade! In addition, the bottle opener is a bit of a pain. It is too big and makes you work REALLY HARD to pop a top. Otherwise, the Prybrid is a monster of a tool for prying, cutting and scoring. I've even used it like a hammer to get a small nail back in place. Just don't try to drive 10 pennies with it....lol. One of the complaints that I read before buying the Prybrid was about how difficult it is to open. It DOES have a stiff track, but I like it like that. You have to put a tiny bit of effort into getting the blade out, unlike everything else that opens up in your pocket every ten seconds and threatens to send you to the hospital. Oil it weekly and change the blades. The Gerber Prybrid will take care of you.
