Straight, rugged, durable, easy to use. Just what I wanted.
This is a great stick. Nice craftsmanship. Lightweight. Very sturdy. Very straight. Comfortable to hold. I have about 8 Brazos walking sticks. Some are wonderful. Some not so much. Kind of hit or miss. But this one is great. In the enclosed picture. The three sticks on the left are Brazos. This third one with the two black bungee balls is this one. The balls don't come with it, I just "bedazzle" them so I can tie them off to chairs. I like the Brazos medallion that is embedded. That is hit or miss too, sometimes you get it other times you don't. I would buy this one over and over if I knew I could count on the quality.

Better than I had expected.
I had fairly high expectations, but this stick from Brazos exceeded them all. Finish is superb, with the perfect amount of figuring and enough normal twists and knots to make the stick interesting. It's larger in diameter than I had expected. Just about one inch at the bottom, but slightly over an inch and a quarter at the top. That's good for my big hands. Your mileage may vary. It's also a good bit heavier than I had expected. Again, that's good for me. I wanted a stick sturdy and heavy enough to repel the four footed predators I sometimes encounter on my walks. But particularly for the predators with less than four feet I encounter even more often. This stick has the oomph to function as a defensive weapon if necessary without being too heavy to carry comfortably. There's a burl in the wood about six to eight inches down from the top, exactly where I put my hand while walking. It almost feels like a palm swell with finger grooves. It might be a lucky coincidence, or it might be exquisite craftsmanship by the artisan who made this stick. Brazos actually included a tag with the name of that artisan, so I choose to believe he selected wood with this feature on purpose. That's above artisan. It's almost artist. I've heard and read about Brazos Sticks for a while. They're based around Waco, Texas. Some other reviewers have complained about quality issues, but I can attest my stick has no issues -- just quality. Delivery was rapid and exactly when promised. So kudos to Brazos for not shipping with Lefmazon, who can't manage to complete a delivery at all, much less on time. Great stick. It's my new favorite. These are worth the price at around $50. If you watch, you can sometimes find them for half price as I did. That's a bargain.

Sturdy walking stick
I purchased this for stability due to neuro balance issues. My legs are strong but my body gets off balance at times when I go walking or just out and about. For those time I use this walking stick. It is of good quality, looks nice, and the loop on the top keeps me from dropping it. I've many compliments on it and asked where it was purchased. The one I bought was a little too long for me. A friend took off the rubber tip on the end and cut it down to fit me better.

Good solid walking stick. Looks great. I put about 5 miles on it already.

They're real. Hand crafted. Tree limbs. Customizable
I got the 60" walking sticks - for some reason, I bought two. I got a good price on both. They're hand crafted in the U.S.A. When I grab one, I get the feeling that I'm Moses, and I can hold the stick up, and shout 'Let My People Go.' Of course, this falls on deaf ears, and I feel like a bit of an idiot after doing it. I thought about using both sticks for exercise (there are some routines online). One stick was larger than the other. These are made from tree limbs, with any large branches removed. The whole stick is sanded, it's coated with a brown shellac. A medallion is put near the top, and a rubber tip is added. Pretty simple. One of the things that I appreciate is that if you buy a larger stick than you want, you an cut the stick shorter - to the length you want - and reattach the rubber tip. I'm not sure if I'll actually use these sticks. I may cut them down for use as canes. BUT they look good. They're American made, and if you need a walking stick, these are a good choice.

Work of art and functions
I get compliments on this walking stick every time I use it. I got it instead of a cane before and after a total hip replacement. It not only is beautiful but functioned very well as a cane. It was easy to make my size by sawing off the bottom. THe cap covers the bottom so I didn’t seal it. Highly recommend for hiking, walking, or use as a cane.

So much better than a cane
After using a cane for a number of years, I now use a walking stick. It allows me to walk upright and keep my balance better. I have several Brazos and they’re quality walking sticks. Great value!!!

Such a Deal for a Great Basic Hiking Pole!
This Brazos Walking Stick or hiking pole that I chose, made from a Hawthorn tree, is lightweight, yet very strong. It is rustic-looking-similar to the picture. If you want a pole that is very unpretentious, yet great on the trail, this is probably it. The picture on the Amazon page shows it with a rubber tip. Mine did not come with one, as others have said, so I ordered the Brazos' company's medium brown rubber tip. It cost @$16.00+, but is actually worth the price because the rubber is thicker than average cane tips. It has their Brazos LOGO on the tip and that really adds a touch of class to the hiking pole. Besides, their 7/8" rubber tip fit my pole end perfectly. Considering that this is one of their least expensive poles, I'm really impressed. Oh, and don't expect the Hawthorn pole to be perfectly straight, because it's not that kind of tree. Some slight curves here and there are perfectly fine, at least to me. Thanks to the Brazos company for recycling trees in this way! Very important.

Love this walking staff.
Love this walking staff. It's a work of art, hand crafted by Dylan McMahan. The Hawthorne wood is very sturdy and pleasant to look at. I also added my own paracord handle by watching a YouTube video, Not too hard to do. In the future I will also be adding the brass spike tip as well. Definitely worth the purchase. Will buy again.

Excellent Work by Dedicated Artisans
It took a while to arrive, but I was not at all disappointed. I enjoy and like to support the work of artisans in a time where everything seems to come from a factory in China. The company is based in Texas and the walking sticks are prepared individually by local craftsmen. The stick is a perfect balance of rustic and elegant, smoothed to avoid any edges or rough spots while enhancing the aesthetic qualities of the hawthorn. I would like to send a special thanks to Jacob Moore who is the particular artisan who made this stick. Hawthorne is a perfect choice of wood for this purpose for many reasons, and not least because of its natural beauty. I have no hesitations in recommending this company and hope they continue their fine work.

Gorgeous lightweight walking stick
Beautiful finish and quality - it's pretty much perfect. Really a lovely aesthetic piece in addition to the practicalities of using it as a walking stick. I'm a 5'7 female and the size/weight is excellent.

Magnifique
Merci

update
I bought the 55 inch Hawthorn staff. Originally I gave it 3 stars and increased the rating to 4 stars. I disappointed at first. The only reason is that a friend of mine has a walking stick of a different brand and it is so much nicer. His also has a nice grip for the hand. This walking stick is lighter than I would have liked. I prefer a heavier stick. Also I am not fond of the metal icon they put on the stick. It is just a matter of preference and I just don't want my walking stick to look have a logo. That aside the stick has grown on me. I like it. I love the feel and the texture of the walking stick, and it puts me at ease when I hold it. So a solid four stars.... I think the company should lose the metal icon and start putting some hand grips of these. Just my opinion ...Also I had no idea what the weight of the walking stick would be because I ordered online. One thing to note is that they sent this stick by delivery and not by Canada post. Guess I am Lucky nobody stole it when it was left outside my door.
