I bought this in size X-Large for my 24 lb shetland sheepdog, Bailey. He's my nervous little boy, hates loud noises or sudden movements, and when we're outside on a walk he would try to wriggle out of his collar whenever a car went by. This harness REALLY helps with that. He feels more secure and confident for some reason, so I'm pleased as punch. Our neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks or even shoulders on the roads, and this harness helps him be calm when we step to the side for a car to pass.Also, today we went to the vet for vaccine updates, and our vet is near a busy intersection with lots of cars and trucks going by... previously, I had to carry Bailey between the car and the vet office because the sound of the traffic would cause him to flip out and try to run. This wasn't because he was scared of the vet, it was definitely due to the traffic noise - when we'd leave the vet, I'd open the door out of the office and the sound of the traffic would make Bailey turn around and run back into the vet office, where it was quieter. But today I put this harness on Bailey before we left the house, and when we got out of the car at the vet I hooked a leash onto the harness and Bailey walked just fine into the vet office without the traffic startling him. Same thing when we left the vet office to walk back to the car. Bailey's happy with this harness, so I'm happy.I'd have to say the only con I can see with this harness is the Comfort Control harnesses wouldn't fit big dogs, like 80 lbs, even if you got the XXL size. Not a problem for me as my dogs weigh 24 lbs and 30 lbs, but if you've got a big dog, you'll have to look elsewhere.

My daughter purchased the blue version of this small collar after her tiny puppy outgrew the extra small one. He now weighs around six pounds and this is the perfect size.Because of the design, it holds him securely without choking him around the neck, and because of the design, in a pinch you can actually grab him and pick him up using the collar.These slip over the head, then the strap feeds through the top and around the chest of the dog. While her dog still wiggles a lot getting it on, I found it easy to get him safely into it when I was assisting her.We have two chihuahuas, and I know how easily they manage to get out of most harnesses (and into everything), so I was very impressed at the effectiveness.Edited -Since this original review, our older chihuahua passed over the rainbow and we picked up a rescue chihuahua from a local agency. Only 5 pounds, she had been used for nearly 5 years as a breeder in a puppy mill. When the agency got her, she was filthy, had a huge flea infestation, giardia, and tapeworms.She is scared of everyone and everything, and has become a pampered addition to our collection. If the first 5 years of her life were abuse, we will take care of her as a princess the rest of her life. When we knew we had been selected to adopt, I took advantage of knowing about these and ordered one from Amazon to bring her home in. She fit nicely in the small size.So STILL perfect for wiggly chihuahuas ... :-)

Since small dogs are prone to tracheal damage from collars, I chose to only have them in harnesses and these are the ONLY harnesses that I buy for my dogs. They are soft, light-weight and breathable without a lot of straps and buckles/clasps and stuff going on. Other brands that I have felt are made of stiff, itchy material - these are the softest I have felt. My 6 pound chihuahua is now in a small - although she wore an xs for a long time - up until she was around 5+ lbs. I also have a 10 pound and 12 pound chihuahua and they are both in mediums. There are no sharp or rough edges on these harnesses and they have a soft edging that continues down around their armpits keeping them comfortable. These are no-frills harnesses so I bought 2 for my tiny girl - one for every day wear and the other I hand sewed some lace and added feathers around the edge for a dressier look while maintaining her comfort in the harness. I highly recommend these harnesses if your dog's comfort and tracheal health are as important to you are they are to me!
