Pronto Seed Grow Your Own Cactus Kit - 5 Varieties

I've rated this 5 star even though none of the seeds germinated. We tried all sorts, followed the instructions, watched YouTube, got a seasoned gardener to try and every one failed. We bought these in December as a gift and it's now May. The company responded brilliantly and quickly. Even though it was disappointing they reimbursed us. Can't ask fairer than that.

Great gift I gave to my sister the instructions are easy to follow and even the plants remained healthy after leaving them for awhile without watering etc cos of waiting for her birthday.

Germination has been quick but I suspect labelling is not clear or accurate. Fastest growing looks nothing like a cactus yet. Others coming on. Now grown some and I question the definition of a cactus. Photo below. Others (where germinated) look pretty much the same as each other. Unconvincing.

I am very disappointed with the product due to lack of germination and the 4 that did germinate died within days. SweetGum - only 4 germinated then died and this was with the pre-chill for a couple of days and with me having the correct setup due to being an avid gardener so i have everything for seedlings controlled, IE temp & humidity controlled propagators. Pine - Currently have some in the fridge and some in the propagator and nothing is happening with the propagator seeds so i am not holding my breath for the rest. Bought same seeds plus an extra tree seed packet elsewhere, so i will see for sure if it is these.

Good gift but quite a small box. The idea is nice but purchaset may be a bit underwhelmed when they see the contents. To be honest if you are only buying seeds this is what you get.

I never normally give reviews but wanted to as have had such great results using this kit at the beginning of the year. The plants germinated really well, are currently huge outside and producing lots of chillies! The long hot Summer as been so helpful for this abundance of fruit, no greenhouse required! Would highly recommend and will definitely buy another kit to grow again at beginning of next year.

I bought the Pronto Seed Growing Set (Herbs) as a gift for my sister in India, and it turned out to be a thoughtful, unique surprise. It arrived in good condition and fairly quickly, considering it was an international delivery. The packaging was neat and gift-worthy, and my sister loved the concept right away—especially since she enjoys cooking and had been wanting to grow her own herbs. The kit includes everything needed to get started: seed packets, biodegradable pots, soil pellets, and clear instructions, which made it beginner-friendly. She planted basil, parsley, rosemary, and chives, and so far, most of the seeds have sprouted well (basil and rosemary were the fastest). The quality of the seeds seems reliable, and watching them grow has been genuinely satisfying for her. It’s also a nice way to bring a bit of green into a small kitchen or balcony. Overall, it’s a charming, meaningful gift—especially for anyone who loves cooking, gardening, or just needs a little greenery in their space. Would definitely recommend, especially for gifting across borders!

nice idea but the problem is the germination rate, i did everything as per the instructions and ended up with only 2 seeds germinating, they were the 2 pines, everything else failed. 2 years later and i have 2 nice 5 inch seedlings but nothing else. i might as well have bought a nice bonsai in pot for £20.00
