My old ThinkPad SL410 that I use in the workshop is really slow. I was tired of this so I ordered a 256 GB SSD and installed Linux Mint on it. Also bought an OEM Lenovo 2.4/5GHZ WiFi card on *Bay (auction site) to replace the stock 2.4GHZ only WiFi card along with this 8GB Motoeagle memory kit from Amazon. Never heard of Motoeagle but their kit worked out of the box and I haven't had a hiccup in 2 weeks of use from any of the new hardware. And although it's not speedy, the ThinkPad is now certainly much faster and snappier that the old incarnation of Windows 7 Pro on a mechanical HDD with 2GB RAM.
