It's considerably smaller and cheaper but the instructions are a bit sparse. However, as I was familiar with the Technomate, it was pretty easy to set up. It's not obvious from the listing but it does support Diseqc and I have programmes from 3 LNBs on the dish (Hotbird 13, Astra 19 and Astra 28). It's early days so I can't tell how reliable it will be but so far I am impressed. Review: Freeview Box, Great little addition, plenty extras - Nice & easy to setup. Staying in Wokingham area so only needed the 60 cm dish, 80% signal. No skipping, freezing except when first switch on & looking for channels. I like the idea of the extended IR, means you can hide the box & cables. IR signal is very good. For the price, functionality, picture, features, what more could you ask for. One down side is the info on the channel. There is one problem, they are using the same connection as my new TV so it causes problems, if you have the same problem, use the TV controller.

Channel choice good.
Good, easy to install, reliable but some channels have disappeared! HD lips not in-sinc with the voice sometimes.

Product Support...Total waste of time.
Purchased this for my daughter who had just moved into a house with poor terrestrial TV signal but already had a Sky dish set up. The product looked good and received lots of channels but she had a problem with the remote. If she went to increase the volume it would throw her back to terrestrial TV and she'd have to start again. Contacted Customer Support and ended up having to go through a process with someone in India. Eventually she got through to Tech Support in Ireland. She was asked and gave details of the problem only to be told that because I had purchased it for her that I would have to send Tech Support an email and then somebody would phone her back. The conversation then goes like "What???? You're already talking on the phone, just address the problem now while we're talking." "Sorry, we can't do that without an email first." "In that case, you can have the faulty goods back." Complete and utter joke. If you buy this and have a problem, don't expect any product Support.

Great receiver.
A neat, very small satellite receiver. This picks up a whole host of free to air satellite channels using a Sky satellite dish. Setting up is not entirely straightforward (several YouTube videos are available to help) and you may find you select the Irish version of some channels - for example Sky News and Food Network (though the content big the shows is the same the adverts differ). The remote isn't the sturdiest looking but and occasionally buttons need popping back out but hasn't caused huge problems. Would recommend for someone wanting a Freesat style box.

Not for non-technical
While it arrives pre-configured for UK, if you update the software you'll need to be familiar with the technicalities of satellite channels and transmission. If TP frequencies, polarisation and modulation settings trip off your tongue and you know an Astra 2E from a 2F or G give it a whirl as it's cheap and a very compact unit. As others noted the EPG is just a now/next and user-interface is retro (kindly) but signals are OK and you'll eventually load up all the FTA channels incl HD. The input supports a inline amp if you need one - and you can swap out an older Sky+/SkyHD box without messing with the dish/LNB or cabling

Good value for money
For the money this does pretty much all you can expect and is easy to set up. I used it for a friend who moved into a flat wired with a satellite dish to convert the signal to use on a terrrestrial tv. Did the job, and is very compact and unobtrusive.

Does not pickup bbc
I have connected it with the note in the box saying it’s pre installed just plug and play, however I get no signal retuned and it’s shows done channels but no bbc channels of film 4 channels. This is not good even though the signal strength is almost 100% for channels above
