Black Velvet Anti-Orange Mattifying Black Bronzer Tanning Lotion 12.25 oz

My opion is this is a great lotion because IT DOES STAIN IMMEDIATELY. That said, I apply the product in the bathroom at the salon where I tan becuase if I dont wash my hands right away and wash twice, the likelihood of my hands staining pretty dark is near 100% The color seems to have maybe a violet base where many lotions I've used tend to have a reddish-wannabe-orangy-browish tint. This one is definitely not leaving me orange no matter how often I use it. With regard to how often I use it, I apply some lotion every time I tan. I dont have to use this one every time though because the immediate color lasts and compliments my bed tan by extending the color, even when I go home and shower afterward. I like to use this lotion after shower in place of plain body lotion, again, because of the instant upgrade in color of my skin. The lotion blends with my Swinton well and dries into my skin leaving it feeling soft, smooth, and both looking and feeling hydrated. Unlike other self tanners that make my skin feel dry, this one actually makes my skin feel soft and not hydrated definitely not greasy. Ill order this one again because of the ultra dark instant color that lasts. Buyer do truly beware: wash your hands right away or prepare to have a little darker skintone on your palms. At a minimum, at least wipe the spaces between your difficult gets really well if you do nothing else to remove the product before tanning, then do wash right after your session to minimize color left on your hands.

This is a great tanning bed lotion. When first using, it did turn my palms colors but after a few uses my hands were used to it and I got dark real fast. Like 3 tanning bed sessions only. My palms did keep a tint for a few days of washes but only at first. Quick results.

Not thin like Ed Hardys Upgrade to Black. I really love this lotion! It moisturizes good. It smells good, does NOT leave that "smell" after tanning or the skin dry and tight feeling. Also it is pretty dark and I ❤️ that! So this is my new tanning lotion and i have literally tried a bunch of the top reviwed ones but I really love it and I'm happy I tried it!

When I tell you this is the absolute best lotion I have ever used!!! I'm soooo dark only after 2 sessions and normally I can't ever get my legs dark to match the rest of my body and I had no problem with this! I have used so many different DHA bronzer lotions to get that deep tan and I will be sticking with this one 100%. Yes it will stain if you don't wash your hands but I use one of those self-tanning applicator mitts and I have no problem rubbing in evenly or getting on my hands I would just suggest using one of those. The lotion is very thick as well so using the mitt to rub it in helps.

4 stars because the lotion does ball up which is really odd to me. Do wash your hands as the palms of your hand green so wash them or wear gloves. Does tan you fast and looks good not orange at all.

I am 55 years old and have been tanning since I was 16 years old... My boyfriend bought me a tanning bed for Christmas in 2021... I have used several different lotions with and without accelerators and bronzers... I found that with all of them, I was having to tan faithfully every day trying to obtain the tan I was looking for but not getting it and keeping what tan I was getting because of the tan fading so quickly... With my tanning bed having brand new bulbs, I knew it was at no fault to the tanning bed... I did a lot of research before buying Black Velvet... I factored in several key points before making my choice... Seeing that it is ranked #34 in tanning lotions and oils was very impressive to me because of the much less expensive price compared to the others listed in the top 50... The combination of ingredients used has great effects in so many different ways that I haven't found in the lotions I have previously used... I received it July 3rd and expected to have to keep on top of my daily tanning to begin to start seeing results and achieving the tan I have been looking for... I was so wrong... After tanning the first time using Black Velvet, I was very impressed by the level of my tan... My tan was much darker with just one use than it had ever been... The difference between that one use of Black Velvet and the previous lotions I had used daily until the entire bottle of lotion, an average of 30 days, was incredible... When my normal "tan time" approached the next day, I realized I had experienced no fading... My tan was just as vibrant and dark as it was a couple of hours after tanning the day before... There was no need to tan to stay as dark as I was the day before... I was still just as dark... I was already seeing the benefit of saving time and money by not having to tan every day... I'm saving money by not using near as much lotion needed with the previous lotions I was using and the cost of electricity used by having to tan every day... On day two after tanning, I had the same result... I still had the same dark, rich, consistent on day 3 that again didn't have to tan... The following day I did use Black Velet and tanned... Amazing results... I have used Black Velvet and tanned July 3rd and July 6th and the 6th around 2 pm being the last time I tanned... I took the picture posted on July 9th at 11:30 pm and as you can see I still have a nice, dark, constant tan... I am now going to save more time and money by having to tan only every 4th day and using only a 1/4 of the lotion previously needed by using the other lotions... I am having no orange color effects so I'm achieving a more natural tan color... My skin already looks and feels much better than before using Black Velvet... I'm no longer seeing the need for my daily moisturizing lotion I needed to use at least a couple of times a day... Another money saver... As you can see in the photo, I have tattoos on my leg as well as other places on my body with the ones on my leg being the newest and only a couple of months old... The tattoo color protectant in Black Velvet is doing a great job of keeping them looking just as new as the day they were done... I am recommending Black Velvet for anyone wanting the perfect tan they've been trying to find to no avail... I'm sure you find Black Velvet to be the lotion you're looking for like I did...

I returned this lotion because it was to dark and stained my hands and would not rub in skin , leaving bad dark brown streaks all over my legs , I think it would be ok but you have to really work with this lotion , it’s not for me

This lotion apply dark and turns into white. It gives me the quickest results of my desired tanning colour. Highly recommend this lotion as it smells amazing, does not seem orange or darken your hands and wives you the ultimate tan! Highly recommend this product!

Works very well! Very dark, definitely need to wash your hands right after! Smell is not my favourite putting lotion on but once you’ve finished your tan it smells fine Works well if you want to get dark quickly

This indoor tanning lotion works so so well! The DHA (bronzer) ingredient is high on the list, as well as tyrosine! These are the two ingredients you want in your indoor tanning lotion. The only con is that it stains the inside of your hands after application, even if you bring wipes into the room to clean your hands after.. maybe it’s just my dry skin but I’m not sure! Either way I absolutely love this tanning lotion and would 10/10 recommend! I used to work at a tanning salon so I know which lotions are worth it - this one definitely is!!!

Definitely has great bronzing qualities! Would purchase again, but will try a different one first. It absolutely does stain your palms, it’s it fairly greasy, and the smell is not unpleasant, but more suitable for men in my opinion. It smells like cologne.
