Can you reposition the power source so its on the back of the head instead of forehead?

Looking at it now the it doesn't appear you can by design. The led strip lights are thicker than the space under the front "arms" of the power source so sliding it wouldn't work. I don't find the power source to be a bother at all. I have a small head and have regularly worn headlamps for work over the years. This one is comfortable for me to wear a full day through doing demo.

Will it fit around my waiste

No. Unless your waist is no bigger than the circumference of a very large head, I think this wouldn't fit. It does fit around a helmet on ones head.

Will this product fit around my helmet for night rides?

I wouldn't recommend this for riding at night. It doesn't have much reach. Probably only 2-3 feet. I would recommend a handlebar mounted bicycle like. I'm a fan of the Bontrager lights available from Trek stores. (appox. $100/ea). They are very bright, last a long time and come with an awesome mount that you can install/remove in seconds. Very convenient.
