Easy to fit alarms compatible with new Scottish regulations
I purchased 3 smoke detectors and one heat alarm which interlink via a radio link. They have a 10 year non replaceable battery in line with Scottish regulations which come into force early 2022. It took me about 5 mins to put each one up and another couple of minutes to connect them all. Iโm not a professional so I would rate them extremely easy to install - I attached via screws but you can use stickers. They are loud and all go off within a moment of one activating. Not cheap but these long life battery devices all seem to be quite expensive. Saves on decorating after hardwiring though. Would recommend.

Good tech - but is it worth it?
I updated my old fire alarm system with this as it was a good solution. No wires and very easy to install. I would only question the wireless interlink kit (which was not so easy to get working). You can use the whole thing without it (with just the alarms). So does spending extra money on a thing that allows you to monitor the system on an app on your phone really bring added value? I'm not so sure. The app is good for seeing your alarms are working and testing them. Beyond that, I don't see any other benefit and the cost is perhaps higher than it should. If the app could allow you to see the temperatures/humidity of the rooms they were in - I would love that. Sadly though I guess the more features you add, the more you drain the 10 year battery. Don't get me wrong, I like the kit and would not change it as I want a safe system I can trust my house and family with. This kit does that well, but you pay a premium for it.

Fire Angle fire alarm
I wanted to interlink the smoke and heat alarms in my house without having to lift floors etc, I ordered two fire angle R pro 10 year battery smoke alarms and a fire angle R pro mains powered heat alarm, the alarms were well packaged and all fitting instructions were Easy to follow , all the alarms paired easily through the house WiFi and all are working perfectly. I am happy with the alarms and intend to buy more fire angle alarms for the rest of my house

Lost all confidence in reliability and claims to battery life
I bought a bundle including gateway, several optical alarms, a thermal/heat, and a CO detector (May 2021). I later added another CO detector and optical alarm. Fitting the alarms and connecting them all together was fairly straightforward, and initially worked fine. Barely a year later, one of the smoke alarms started chirping to say that the battery was failing. That then stopped and didn't occur again. A couple of months ago, the CO detector in the kitchen started continually alarming. I brought the second CO detector in from the garage and sat next to the kitchen detector. The kitchen detector continued to alarm intermittently whilst the other was silent. Today the living room optical alarm has constantly been sounding whilst I was in the room, even after using a hoover to ensure the sensor didn't have a dust build up it continued to go off. I'm now about to rip the whole lot out and replace with something more reliable. Pros - easy to set up and link together. When one alarm goes off, all the other do Cons - Zero confidence in a system that triggers all alarms on a false basis. 07/03/24 - Less than three years on and that's the last of all of the FireAngel "10 year battery" bundled products that I bought have now died. What an investment! Have replaced with an alternative big brand that I can at least change the lithium batteries on.

Pricey but worth it!
I'm an avid user of home assistant and IoT, hence the reasoning for looking at connected devices. Appreciate this is pricey and requires its own proprietary hub, but the piece of mind that no matter where you are, you'll get an alert if an alarm goes off to me is worth it. It also routinely tests the network and system to ensure all is working as expected. Super easy to install with various sized holes in the plate for drilling, and then just twist and lock the alarm which automatically turns it on. Had for a number of months now and no issues with connectivity or false alarms, also connected to a FireAngel CO alarm and an upstairs FireAngel smoke alarm which will all trigger each other if alarming. I would like to see an API for integration into Home Assistant / Home Kit etc. But can't fault the product. You pay for what you get, and in this case its a very reliable and first-class alarm which shouldn't be compromised

BEWARE: Warranty status affected by who fulfils your Amazon order!
Have been very happy with the product in the first year of operation (3 smoke detectors and 1 gateway), however one of the detectors started randomly going off at 3am or 4am in the last few days. Contacted support who were very helpful, but because my Amazon order for these was fulfilled by a 3rd party seller and not Amazon directly they are not eligible for replacement if faulty. That kinda sucks! Which is why my 5 stars is now a 3 star review. You buy a product with a 5yr guarantee / 10yr lifespan to be fobbed off on a purchase technicality. So beware who is fulfilling your Amazon order for these otherwise your warranty is non existant.
