Okay (at best) for retro gaming
Picture quality is not as good as a direct AV connection to TV. This item blends the pixels together making it look a more fuzzy, less detailed, the colors are dulled down, with no way to turn off this "feature". I can't speak on picture quality for vhs or dvd players, but as a retro gamer, this was not something I wanted to live with for my retro consoles. I've found that I'm better off connecting my consoles through an AV switch box, so I'm returning this item. The only thing I'd miss out on is the aspect ratio control, which is a choice I can live with. I'd like to recommend to the makers of this product to include in future models the ability to disable these picture enhancement "features", whether it be with buttons, switches, or even jumpers... anything really. Also, the corners are pretty pointy and can cause pain if you pick it up by them.

Works with PS2 and Nintendo Wii
Nothing really bad to say about this. The power switch is a good touch, but I'm not a fan of the cord to power it. It's a preference only because space around my entertainment center is pretty tight and can cause an issue, but if space isn't a big deal, then it won't be a big deal to you. The buttons to switch inputs or aspect ratios are nice and "clicky" feeling. I tried using the 16:9 aspect for my PS2, but wasn't a fan. Besides, you don't play old school games that are in a 4:3 format originally and try to warp them to 16:9...it doesn't work that way The Wii originally used RCA cables for 480p(?) quality, and the optional component cables to bump it to 720p. Maybe it was 720p originally and went to 1080p. Whatever it is, the 16:9 aspect ratio for the Wii is just fine and I don't have any issues with the lower 480/720/whatever picture quality. I'd go ahead and grab it.

Works great
I honestly should have bought a splitter with more inputs for my Genesis, SNES, Playstaion2 and Wii, but this works well to stir up nostalgia.

Works with ps2 playing ps1 games.
I bought this to play ps1 games on my ps2. I had a different converter box that would not display ps1 games due to the resolution and my tv not recognizing it. So if you need a converter for this reason, this is a good choice. I haven’t played much on it but it worked the hour I used it.

Sometimes good- often not that great.
The picture quality is not consistent- often the image contains noise, or color artifacting. Which is a real shame, because this thing has so much I love about it- I love that it is a switcher and an upscaler. I love that it lets you control the aspect ratio. I love the simple interface and low-profile form-factor. That said, the video quality has ranged from "good" to "below-average" on this thing. Using mostly old VHS tapes and laserdiscs as my test, this thing often produces a lot of noise in the image- usually it looks like bright green or yellow dots, especially in black or dark areas. Worse, at times there are bands of color artifacts- usually casting a sort of green or blue tint into large areas of the screen. On the other hand, the up-rezing is quite impressive! This has produced some of the sharpest results I've seen from old VHS and Laserdisc footage. When things are going well, the image is clear and fun to watch on an HDTV! So overall, I'll still give this 3 stars- mostly because the results, while unpredictable, are still watchable, and the fact that it's got the 4:3 aspect ratio, and is also a switcher, still helps it earn its value, IMO. But if consistent and accurate picture quality is a priority for you, look elsewhere.

A decent quality A/D Video converter
A decent quality A/D Video converter, you can choose in between 4:3/16:9 screen ratios and it has two sets of analogue inputs. Only downside is you can't control input levels.

perfect conversion from analog 4:3 aspect ratio to 1920*1080 4:3 ratio (left and right black bars)
Most converters change analog 4:3 to hdmi 16:9, resulting in a horizontally stretched image, completely useless! This converter however, gives the right aspect ratio.

Terrible input lag
Device functions as advertised but has horrible input lag. the product doesn;t state power rating required through USB but I found a spec of 5V 1a elsewhere for the same item. Made sure to use correct power input and used a better quality HDMI cord and still VERY perceptible input lag with my N64 on a 4k sony tv. do not buy if you plan to play any games that require fast inputs (racing, platformers, etc.)
