Beautiful fixture, lightweight but sturdy enough for sheetrock
product arrived very quickly, it is good quality and very easy to install. The plates are lightweight for mounting on sheetrock, and just malleable and thin enough to drill/cut them as needed. TAKES ON OTHER REVIEWER'S OPINIONS OF THIS PRODUCT: Don't be fooled by the idiots saying this came in blue, it comes with a protective wrap that needs to be peeled off. As to for those claims this fixture doesn't come with lights, IT'S OBVIOUS it doesn't, it's a light fixture, you buy the bulbs separately. Have you people never bought at HD or Lowes?? You don't need to drill anything to get the cover plate off, you simply screw off the metal cylinders that cover the light bulb sockets. Those claims of the product being cheap looking and made are false. Any light fixture meant to hold on to sheetrock can't be very heavy. Let's not be stupid and give a great product bad reviews because you fail to have common sense. This fixture looks absolutely beautiful on my vanity, I am very happy with the product.

Two important tips not mentioned
Two important tips to help you install this six light fixture. First, to separate the wall plate from the decorative face plate simply remove the six cylindrical socket covers by pulling them straight up and away. This will allow the back cover to fall from the decorative plate. Second, for the six light fixture, there are two sets of wires inside the wall plate that must be connected to the house current wires. If you don’t do this, only three lights will light up, and you’ll have to take the fixture apart to connect the other set (which I hade to do). These two things are not mentioned in the instructions. Other than the poorly written instructions, this is a nice fixture for the price.

Converted to wall unit to plug in unit w/remote
I havent installed on wall yet, but i put it all together and works perfect. I did not install it into a wall fixture, rather a Craft Light Plug with a switch for easy on/off, also purchased on amazon (amazon recommended it as a frequently bought together item); it has 2 exposed wires on one end. Full instructions that i wish would come with the light: To remove backplate from front plate, grip chrome bulb covers that would sit at bulb base and slightly twist or just pull; the covers will slide off exposing just the bare ceramic; once all 4 are removed, youll be able to remove front plate. For the plug, the plug wont match the instructions; the plug will have two white wires and the light has a white & black. If you look closely at the two white wires one is grooved and the other is smooth. The smooth one is your black wire, the grooved is white. Very important; your light wont work if you get it backwards. Pinch your two wires closely together and insert into orange wire crimper thingy; once your wires are fully inserted, firmly pinch your two wires at topto keep in place and keep twisty orange piece over and over until it stops or wires want to bend with it. Repeat for other set of wires. To test pull on wires to make sure they dont come out and are very firm and tight into crimper. Seperate your black wires from your white wires into seperate sides of box; you want to do this because if any copper wire inside your crimper is exposed and touches exposed wire from the opposite colored set, it could potentially start a fire, so just seperate them for 100% safety. Run your plug wire along the edge and have it coming out side of light. Take the green screw and screw it half way into spot marked ground wire. Take your ground wire thats attached to front plate and make a small hook on end of it. Hook the ground wire around the ground wire screw on light back plate, and screw in the screw the rest of way to tighten the wire firmly behind the screw. At this point, it is fully operational and you can test it by screwing in a bulb and making sure it works. Once verified, remove bulb, put the front plate into place the same way you removed it, remove the blue protective film on the chrome, and put light base pieces back in place. Once you remove film, be mindful of fingerprints. It will look identical to when you first opened box, just with a wire coming out the side and no longer has the blue film on it.. Take the small silver screw and put into small screw hole on side of unit; this will help keep it secure so the front/back plate cant come apart unless you remove screw. Screw in your 4 bulbs; some of mine were a lil cock eyed so i unscrewed the bulb and adjusted the ceramic base a tad to align it correctly then put the bulb back in. Hang up, and enjoy! Another note; i plugged a remote sensor box in and plugged this light into it, then put velco on back of remote and attached it to front of vanity so i didnt have to reach go turn off/on, just a nice simple click of a button. The remote sensor plugs into a single outlet and has 2 plugs on it. This leaves one outlet with 2 plugs for the remote, and one normal outlet open for non remote functions. I got a surge protector and plugged my curling iron, hot iron etc into it and then used this for the other port on the remote sensor; so when i use the remote off button for my light, my curling iron etc all turn off and i eliminate fire danger that beauty causes lol

Nice quality for the price, but difficult to install.
On the positive side, I like the color of the brass, the overall look, and it's all straight and relatively strong metal. On the negative side ... it was quite difficult to take apart, and I'm very experienced with building things. The vanity light came to me completely closed up, and there was no obvious way to open it in order to wire it. I finally used a screwdriver to push in the grounding clips on all four sockets in order to release the backplate. Once I did that, realized that the four collars, that surround each socket, are a form of ... one-directional clamp that holds the front plate to the back plate, and are not easy to remove. This is how vanity lights are usually taken apart - by removing the collars first. The instructions gave no hint of this, and I couldn't have removed them from the front easily anyways. So in the end, this was the process I had to do to mount this light: 1) Pry the grounding clips off of the back plate - look for little black tabs on the backplate, and push the smaller one with a screwdriver. 2) Once open, remove the grounding clips entirely from each socket. 3) Push each socket forward enough to the point where the brass cup reaches and falls off of the back of the socket. 4) Replace the sockets in their original location and reattach the grounding clips. 5) Wire the neutral and hot lines. 6) Wire the ground to the backplate, and wire the ground line. This means a 3-prong plug, not 2-prong plug, for wiring this without a junction box. It's got a metal case, so it has to be grounded. 7) Put back on the front plate, and the sockets to hold it back on. The screw that goes through the top of the front plate to the back plate seems not that necessary with sockets like these. Hope that helps - if you receive one like mine you're in for a little extra work at the front end to get to the wiring.

do not remove the protective film until the very last moment. read the instructions carefully.
Hello everyone! First, do not remove the protective film until the very last moment. Second, read the instructions carefully. Carefully remove the decorative caps from the electrical sockets, they are also the clamps for attaching the decorative front panel. Decide on the cable. Make all connections inside. Do not try to pull the wires out. Do not remove the electrical sockets from their positions in the base. The fasteners are very fragile and break, then it will be difficult to fix them. I personally made additional corners from a plastic board and a slot and secured them with GORILLA glue to the base of the medical cabinet, if you go this way, wait a day for the glue to dry. Glued tightly and there is no need to drill holes in the wall and spoil the tiles. I aligned the front panel flush with the surface of the mirrors. LED lamps 1680 lumens, which corresponds to 100 W of ordinary lamps. But in reality it consumes no more than 20 W. That for all five lamps approximately real electricity consumption of only 100 W. The thing is delicate, be careful with it, do not leave dents, once again do not remove the protective film until the very moment you screw in the lamps. If you do everything correctly, you will get a sea of beauty and light. I mistakenly first bought a smaller size with 4 lamps, but the company returned my money minus the cost of sending it back. But that was my mistake. I bought a second time but already the right size 30 inches. And this time everything fit just perfectly. I think you will see everything you need in the photo. The only thing I can add is that my outlet has a switch on the wall. When I did the renovation in the bathroom, I foresaw this in advance, making an outlet that can be turned on and off as you usually turn the light on and off with a switch on the wall. The only thing is that I placed the outlet a little high. And everything is fine there.

$26 Buck Chuck!
For $26 bucks I was able to chuck the rusty 20+ year old identical light fixtures that came with the house and replace them with this model's new finishes pieces... I bought (2) new fixtures to replace (2) identical old fixtures. (1) was defect free. (1) had a small dimple towards bottom of finish plate (maybe half the size of a golf balls dimple) & small scratches towards end of finish plate maybe over a 3/4 inch by 1 inch area (looked like something slid across it..). I flipped it so dimple was above center light instead of below it & I don't even see it & scratches are only really noticeable if you're looking for them... The new fixtures metal was a little thinner than old ones but over all very happy how well they worked for my situation. It probably took longer to order the lights & write this review than it took to install them... Now I'm thinking I'm good another 10- 20 years & am happy about that!

very poor design and build quality
This has got to be the worst design of any product I have bought to date (and I buy a lot). When unpacked the product looks quite sturdy and has protective film over the metal body. There are some screw mount holes on the back and a hole through which the electrical wires can pass. All seems well. But the manufacturer forgot that people actually need to connect the wires... The wires with the connector are tucked safely inside, with no way to access them or extract unless you disassemble the back of the unit. Unfortunately, the only way to open the back is to pry open 6 pairs of metal clamps that not only hold the back to the front, but at the same time hold the 6 lamp fittings to the front. Once the back is removed it is impossible to re-attach it with both sides of each pair of clamps in their original spot. They are either tight enough to hold the fittings, but impossible to line up with their holes, or they can be lined up with the holes (very cumbersome and tricky) but then miss any tension to hold the fittings. As a result the fittings are wobbling in their spots. I kept this only because it was cheap and it is tucked away out of sight behind a ledge inside a closet with sliding doors. But if you intend to mount this in any place where you will see it or where it may be prone to vibration (e.g. a closing door nearby) causing the fittings to dangle out of the base, I would strongly urge to find a better product.

but over all I am very happy with this light bar
I started out to get a new medicine cabinet. Mainly because I was sick and tired of the buzzing the flourescent light constantly induced into radios. And the mirrors had lost some of their backing. Could not locate any cabinet to fit in the cut out opening in the wall and I did not want to go to a gigunda cabinet that would cover it. I removed my cabinet from the wall, removed the old lighting hardware, and installed this light bar in place of the old stuff. And I had new mirrors cut to replace the old. So for about $75 total I have a new medicine cabinet. I have spent some money on various light bulbs trying to get the illumination "just right", but over all I am very happy with this light bar. It is well made, came with all kinds of attaching nuts and bolts etc, and was well packaged.

Very cute
I knew I wanted vanity lighting in the master bathroom. Everywhere I looked it was either way to expensive and way out of my budget, or within my budget but worked terrible and looked worse. Then I found this one and I am so happy with it. It was important to me that it was dimmable too. I like to take showers in low light to really set the I'm-in-relax-mode mood. It's a great light fixture!

Feels a little cheap, but looks great.
The construction is a little cheap, but once they're up you can't see any of the cheap bits. I bought two of these to frame a mirror, and ended up cutting small chunks out of the bottom to hook them up to extension cord adapters since I wasn't mounting them over lighting hookups. Worked perfectly. Look great. Used with Philips LED lights and girlfriend is very happy with the vanity setup.
