Very cute set, bought for a friend and supplemented it with some extra soil and perlite, larger rocks, as well as the plants needed for the terrarium. You can see from product pics and other reviews what's in it, it's fine for a small terrarium but for a medium/large one you will need to add to it, as others have said. Still, the packaging and instructions/tools etc make it worthwhile as part of a gift even if it needs supplementing. I bought it on special offer for £5, which made it a no-brainer, but probably wouldn't for £9+.

Not a bad kit but gets quite pricey to buy everything you need as plants and jar not included. As others have mentioned, would be nice to have printed instructions. They are on the website but I was hoping for an activity with my son away from screens

Would advise buying items listed separately. Not enough supplied in the box. Good for tiny setups not for medium or large

Bought this terrarium kit because it had everything I needed to set up a small terrarium. I did use a little extra soil of my own because I think my terrarium base was larger. But it has everything you need instead of having to buy separate bags of everything. Also on the box it gives the website to go onto to get guidance & video as how to plant up and care for your terrarium. Very pleased.

I found some terrarium containers on sale and they were sitting around waiting for plants when I discovered this kit. It had all the items needed for a small terrarium so I took the plunge and ordered one. It too sat around until I could find a plant. Today I picked up a Venus Fly Trap and tonight I planted the terrarium. It was so easy. I checked out the website mentioned on the insert first. Quite easy. I appreciate that the soil is not full of vermiculite which always seems to migrate to the top of the soil and looks unsightly. I used most of everything in the kit (had some moss and charcoal left over for the next planting and I didn’t use the gravel for now). I just ordered another kit. Buying a kit might cost more than purchasing all the components separately but it’s convenient and I won’t have a bunch of stuff lying around.

You select your own container and what plants you put into it so it is very customizable.
