Island of Legends (The Unwanteds)

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Wonderful storytelling! The tension and resolution of problems keeps the story moving at a brisk pace, and the characters are enchanting.

This book series is great! The action, mixed with laughs, and heart touching situations hold the reader spellbound till the end of the book. I haven't been happy with the way/situation the various books end, but it certainly makes you look forward to the next book in the series! Had I realized this I probably would have waited for the final book before reading the series.

This is a great series of books. This one did not disappoint. As a teacher, I pre-read all the books I keep in my classroom for my kids. These are an easy read, but there are some themes (interest in the opposite sex) that are not appropriate for all children. I think 5/6th grade is more age appropriate for this series of books.

This is the 4th book in a lovely series, so if you were unaware of that, go back and look for 'The Unwanteds' and buy that one first, then the other two, then this one. It's worth getting the hardcover edition, It will last longer and you will want to re-read the books while you wait for the next one. The series is a good read for kids but I am a woman in my 30s and still love it. The relationships between the kids and adults are realistic and engaging. Romances take a backseat to make room for plot and action in this adventure story. There is mystery and intrigue, murder and conspiracy. Battles are fought. Empires rise and fall and lost civilizations are rediscovered. Just calling this series a blend of 'Harry Potter meets the Hunger Games' does not do it justice. Once you pick up the first book and read the first chapter it is easy to see: while the fates of Alex Stowe, Katniss Aberdeen and Harry Potter might share similarities, the scope of their experiences, struggles, losses and victories is still vastly different.

It’s the same: IT’S AWESOME :P really recommend this book to any fantasy readers. I only got into this book bc I read Keepers of the Lost Cities I am a huge fan of that series (I recommend this book to fantasy readers) but this review is about this book and I am determined to finish reading the series (btw I started a month ago) AND IM ALREADY AT BOOK 5 (🎉woohoo!) overall I really would like this series to continue (counting the sequel)!

The book is great, its better than "The girll who drank the moon" I have fallen in lovee with thr characters and cried in the 2 book when Mr. Today dies ;) :D Now thiss review is coming from a ten year old girl who waiited 9 months for the school library to by thee 3 book, which thry never did so I asked myy grandmaa to by the ONE book but accidently bought the ntiire series EXCEPT for the 3 so here I am telling my favv teacjer Mr. Fletch to read it with me. I thought this book was great and meet all of the expectations I had in the last book. I was really exited when I heard that the author was going to make another book in the series. For all fantasy and drama book-readers in the world I really hope you read this series. I am hoping Lisa McMann makes another book in this wonderful series.

I think this should be rated 5 stars because of all the characters, and the swings of action, fright, and hooks at the end of book 3... it just WOWS me! And the excitement, sadness, and especially the thrills make me want to continue to the next book!

MY son age 11 is really enjoying reading this series (I have also recently started reading these too). He has previously read Harry Potter, and is also a Rick Riordan fan (Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase, etc). Great read, would recommend.

This is an amazing series. A page turner from the very start. Kept my attention and so glad it has so many books to it. I feel like I know the characters and want them to succeed, just get drawn into the story. Highly recommend to young and old alike.
