The First Years Take & Toss Straw Cup, Boy, 10 oz, Multicolor, 4 Count

I am so glad I discovered these. I regret buying all of the fancy sippy cups because these are very well made, spill proof, easy to wash, and most important, the BEST value for your money. I love that I can just toss them once wear and tear is evident and my wallet does not bleed! The straws are very resistant and the plastic that the cup is made out of is very sturdy. The only con is that you must put on the lid before on put in the straw, otherwise the content in the cup will spill. The cup colors are fun and my boy loves to pick his cup color. I let him choose his cup color when I offer beverages that he dislikes such as milk and that’s how I convince him to drink any beverage.

I have searched high and low for the cup that would allow me to transition my 12 month old from the bottle. Literally high and low and the search tool 3 months but here is the winner!!! I write this review to hopefully save others some time. Bottles are great...they have the different level nipples so by the time your kiddo is ready to move on from them they are used to getting a good bit of liquid from their efforts. Then they “graduate” into big kid cups that require them to suck and suck for a freaking drop of liquid. It’s so frustrating. Have y’all actually tried sippy cups and other first cups with straws? Because I have...i had no idea. I never dreamed when I started all of this that the cheapest option would be my favorite but these are the hands down winner for juice and milk at home. They are surprisingly sturdy for the price. I have a smart kid who loves to figure out opening EVERYTHING but so far so good with these. I also got him a thermal water bottle with retractable straw bc this isn’t what you want for your portable water receptacle. But I am still behind impressed with these. I send my foster child on visits with parents and to and from various things and it’s great to have cups that don’t break the bank if one or 2 is lost. Until you learn the correct way to use these...you will hate them. I had cups overflow on me over and over until I really made a point to figure this out: 1)Fill 2)Put lid on 3 Insert straw!

We ordered 3 types of straw cups - these, the Nuby 2 Handle Flip n' Straw Cup, and the Playtex Lil'Gripper/Anytime cups - for our 10 month old daughter. These cups on a 5 point scale so far: Drinkability (ability of our daughter to sip through the straw): 5 stars. She can easily drink through the straw - since there's no valve system, its the same as a regular drinking straw. Slightly harder for her to grip, since it's uncontoured, but no big deal Washability (ease of dismantling/cleaning/reassembly: 5 stars. There are 3 total pieces including the top. It's dead simple to put together Top rack dishwasher safe, also easily cleanable by hand. Leakproof?: 2.5 stars so far. There is no valve system, so this barely qualifies as leakproof. However, the top of the cup securely holds the straw in place. If you put the straw all the way to the bottom of the cup and turn the cup upside down, the cup will only leak the amount of liquid that's in the straw. I can see where after a bunch of use, the top might no longer hold the straw and it *could* start leaking around the straw as well. For the price, though, just toss it if it starts leaking and buy more. Oh, and this also fails the OCD test - we received four cups: 2 red, 1 orange, 1 yellow; the tops we received: 2 blue, 1 red, and one green; the straws we received: 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green 1 blue. ACK!

I find if you close the lid first, then put in the straw, it solves that 'spitting' problem.... When you close the lid, it kind of creates a 'vacuum' and if the straw is in there, with one end in the liquid, the straw will act like a hose and come straight out. However, close the lid, then insert the straw, and it solves your problem. Love these cups! I give my daughter her green smoothies (spinach, green apples, strawberries, bananas, and flax seed, with a spoonful of chia seed that's been soaked in water, and these are the only cups that has the straw flow wide enough for the chia seed to easily pass through, hard enough so she doesn't chew the straw to bits, while at the same time, able to withstand a toddler constantly chucking the cup overboard....again and again! The lid stays on nice and tight..haven't tried the cup sideways or upside down for long enough, as we use these cups at home, and it gets picked up within a few minutes at the latest. I wash and reuse these cups! So much cheaper then all the alternatives.. And I believe I've tried them all! I used to love the NUKs..but at $7 a cup, with a replacement nipple at $4 a piece... They get pretty pricey, especially when your child gnaws at it occassionally... Those spouts get ruined way too quickly, and not only does it leak EVERY WHERE, but she gets a kick out of tipping it upside down all over herself... And really, do you want your kid to be mouthing something that deteriorates so quickly...like having little pieces of silicone coming off into their mouths? Advent were way too hard, and what is up with the stupid lid, that when they tip the cup, the attached lid goes straight into their face? And those munchkin and advent straw cups? And NUBY sippy? Have you tried drinking from it yourself? I can barely get anything out of it.. And they're not completely leak proof for so being so difficult to drink from! And have you tried washing them? So many nooks and crannies... No if you dont wash it well enough, mold and mildew galore... Wished these had handles, but not a deal breaker, when I wean her off formula, her cows milk will be in these cups!

Some products are great in their complexity, others in their simplicity, and these cups definitely fit the bill for the latter. As my little one progressed into wanting to drink by herself, I wanted a simple solution to let her get the fluid that she wants and at a higher flow-rate than many of the other no-spill or spill-free options that required a stronger sucking motion. These cups are inexpensive, come in an array of fun colors, and provide just the level of simplicity that I was looking for. All of this and they are dishwasher safe and made from safe materials, making this purchase a no-brainer. The only real negative with this product is that they are definitely not as spill/leak-proof as some other competing products that have more substantial drinking apparatuses. If the cup is held too far upright for any period of time it will start to leak, and any drops will definitely end up in some fluid on the floor. Pros - Increased flow rate due to simple design - Interesting, vibrant colors that can be mixed-and-matched - Inexpensive - Dishwasher safe - Made from safe materials Cons - Troublesome leaking/spilling if not used correctly (which if often the case with little ones) I would highly recommend this product to meet the drinking needs of a growing child. I think these cups for home use along with a CamelBak Kid's Eddy Water Bottle, Foxes, .4-Liter for full leak/spill-proof use when on-the-go is the perfect combination!

So when or Pedi told us to start using sippy cups our son had this vindeta to hate every single one we tried. We came to see he had a major interest in straws so we moved to straw sippy cups. Again he hated every single one we gave him till... THESE!! He absolutely loved these cups from the moment he got one in his hands. I eventually learned that he hated the other ones because of how hard he had to suck to get anything out of them and would become frustrated, with these he can drink milk, water, juice, you name it as easily as you or i do with a straw cup. Ive had little to no spillage with these cups so messes are almost non existent, which makes like so much easier cause i can make him water give him the cup and know it wont be all over him the next minute. The lids are secure (been tossed off a high chair and hitting granite/tile with no pop offs!), straws are durable (been through teething and cats lol) and the colors are fantastic. I also love that dispite being able to wash and reuse them, there cheap enough that i dont feel bad for throwing some out and just ordering more! If you havent tried these please do there amazing! P.s. the other take and toss items are awesome too. My son and I love the silverware they make as well as the bowls! Thank you Take and Toss for making awesome products!

I find the price at walmart is similar to amazon, if not cheaper, so I'd check that out as well. I thought this was a good deal because it seemed so inexpensive, but it's really inexpensive everywhere. I like these for smoothies for my kids, because the other take and toss sippy cups don't work with thicker drinks, the drink gets stuck in the nozzle area and it's hard to get out. However, my kids have a tendency to take the straws out and play it with. However, with other cups that have an attached straw, it's annoying to try and clean, whereas this is easier. I take a chopstick and try to clean in the middle of the straw; that said, after a while, I just have to throw them away (the straw) because it's too hard to clean all of it and I worry about bacteria. The straws also get lost, chewed on (the end) to make them unusable, so I found some cheap straws at the store, cut them, and sometimes use those as replacements. They're not as good, since they're thinner and harder to put into the cups, but they work as a temporary work around. Also you can just buy more honestly since they're really inexpensive. I just don't like wasting the cups, because then I have like a million cups and lids and no straws.

I love these things! I initially bought two sets as a solution for a child who would chew through all the soft rubbery pieces that came with sippy cups & the no spill cups with soft straws. He still chews the straws flat, but they can be chewed back into shape too, so those two sets lasted me over 4 years! I just recently bought a third set because boy #2 decided it'd be fun to bend the straws in half multiple times until they got a hole & actually had to be tossed. But it still took a good while of his shenanigans before three straws needed to be replaced. And for how cheap they are, not at all a big deal! The cups are not perfectly no spill, but the lid does help keep the drink mostly contained if the cup is accidentally tipped over. It even survives a fall to the floor most of the time with minimal mess! I also really like that my kids learn early to drink from a straw too because then they prefer other drinks this way -not just milk- which helps keep their teeth cleaner too. With my other two kids, we skipped wasting money on a bunch of different sippy cup styles & went straight from sucking on a bottle (and nursing) to sucking with these straws. My older kid has had this horrible habit of sticking his hand in his open cups & wanting to experiment with putting his food in his drinks & then rejecting both. Even though he now knows how to get the lids off, he doesn't for this particular quirk. Instead he tries to fit the food through his straw now which severely limits his ability to mess up his drink before I catch him & put a stop to it. Hooray for limiting his wasteful messes! The different colors with different kids and straws are also a bonus. We can make "fancy" cups by making all the colors different and have "pattern" cups by matching the cup & straw but not the lid. So these are not only functional on many levels, but entertaining for my kids even in their simplicity. Win win!

Nice and colourful. These were a good transition for my toddler from bottles/sippers to cups. As can be expected the straws that come with the cups can get lost or bitten and bent by children after some uses (completely normal) and can easily be replaced by other disposable straws. Infact I prefer using disposable straws for the purpose of hygiene. The cups are sturdy and can withstand falls but no guarantee of the contents not spilling out. At times the lid stays put and there is not even a leak (lucky you) but most times you will have a spill.

A mi hija nunca le gustó la mamila y empezó con los popotes, estos vasitos son muy bonitos, tienen mucho color y su función de bloqueo es muy buena, tampoco esperes que si se cae no se derrame nada. Leímos mucho del material de los vasos, que eran muy delgados, pero a nosotros se nos hicieron que era muy equilibrado su peso y su grosor, no son pesados, ni duros, mi hija los puede sostener con mucha facilidad. El popote es algo que inevitablemente acabarán mordiendo, pero no hemos visto que se rompa, parece muy fuerte. En general, son muy buenos.

Love this for juices and anything that isn’t water for my little toddler so it doesn’t stain his actual water bottle.

Bastante prácticos, resistentes a derrames, materiales de buena calidad, le encanto a mi hijo, el único detalle es que se necesita armar en pasos; primero se vierte el contenido, se coloca la tapa y después se coloca el popote; al tener tan buen sello la tapa si se coloca esta con el popote puesto se puede derramar el contenido ya que hace presión de aire en el interior.
