For production we use a high quality varnish that protects it and maintains it in top quality for a long time. thermoBase has two slides to facilitate sliding on the kitchen counter and two rubber stoppers for high stability. Just lift the front of the board slightly and gently glide over the surface of the kitchen counter. Special shape allows trouble-free and convenient handling. Good useful base plate
Nice base, looks good, well made, absorbs a significant amount of the vibrations too. Bit pricey but not many other decent alternatives out there and if you're spending over a £1k on the machine why cheap out on the base!
