Olympia Tools Power Grip Bolt Cutter, 39-114, 14 Inches

This piece of equipment is fantastic. I love that it folds down/collapses, and can be tucked away into a tool bag nicely. I was trying to cut some metal rods for some Ikea cellular shades and nothing was working for me, when a hardware store employee suggested I get these. They cut really well and I really like that they're not too heavy. Plus, made in America!

As a first responder, these folding bolt cutters are a must have for every vehicle. I don’t care if your law-enforcement I don’t care if you’re fire rescue. Those hose draggers have enough toys and gadgets. Every first responder should have one of these in their vehicle at all times.

Initially, it took some effort to open and close the jaws and they would not open more than 3/16 of an inch. I had to slightly loosen all of the nuts. The jaws would still not open more. However, the more I open and close the jaws, the wider the jaws are opening. I think the thick yellow paint is wearing down a little too, which is also helping to lessen the effort. Overall, I recommend these and the ability to fold the handles for storage is a big advantage.

Nice bolt cutters. I read some reviews on chipping etc. If you stay within the parameters and not try to cut something massive I don't see there being an issue.

Worked Great the first try! They are heavy duty! Like the compact design for storage. Glad bought the 18" size - you can see the before and after picture the size of the lock I had on my outside gate. Needed a little effort as a 60-year-old but, Worked Great the first try! Like the compact design for storage. old man, but the lock cut in less than 30 secs I would recommend to buy these for almost $40 instead of the smaller cutters 14" for $20 Did not want to waste my time and spent the extra monies to be sure Glad I did - they are a keeper
